I am standing in the middle of the hall and from the side I see a group of people walking towards me with Anna Wintour in the center.

I step to the side, look at her, smile, and say, Hello.

And the woman, who is referred to as the Devil Wears Prada, turns her head to the side, looks at me, smiles, and says “HELLO”, as she passes by.

About an hour later, I have a moment at the meet-and-greet, and as I approach her, she looks at me and says, “Oh! I remember you, I saw you earlier.”

They may say many things about Anna Wintour, but what I observed was a truly inspiring woman. She travelled to Dubai to inspire women at the WE Convention.

She left a memorable impression on everybody who engaged with her.

She was kind, she was patient, she was empathetic.

And I can only say, Ms. Wintour, it was a true honor to meet you!

The future of healthcare is already here and @bitsandpretzels HealthTech 2023 showed us a wealth of innovation and ideas that have the potential to change the world! ✨ 👏🏽 💯

From connecting with industry trailblazers to diving deep into the forefront of healthcare innovation, every moment was filled with excitement.

The energy on stage and in the exhibitions was electrifying, and I'm grateful to have been part of this impactful moment in health tech innovation 💪🏽

Meeting Michael J Fox and hearing him speak is something I will never forget. What an incredible person! I had tears in my eyes after his final words as he received a standing ovation.

Well done, Bits & Pretzels HealthTech! 🚀

The possibilities are endless, and it's exciting to see how these innovations shape how we approach healthcare 💥

What an extravaganza 🎉

@bitsandpretzels Founders Festival 2022 is done.

And it's been one of my most exhilarating experiences.

The outfits, stages, band, speakers, topics, masterclasses, and exhibits, all wrapped up at Oktoberfest.

Some of the highlights from the last three days:

✅Speech by @Schwarzenegger delivered with heartfelt confidence; three of his key points were - have a vision, don't listen to naysayers and no one is self-made, we have teams, social groups, and communities that help us reach our vision. And the cherry on top was a hug on stage :)

✅@ekofreezy sharing his story was so inspiring and made me laugh a lot.

✅Of course, the Bits & Pretzels team, and founders @andy_bruckschloegl, @berndstorm, @pilothaas, @derlollo and Ann-Kathrin Kühnle, as well as my co-host @celine.flores

✅To be at an event with 5000 people - the energy and passion of the people attending.

✅The quality of the conversations on and off stage. As founders and often leaders in their field, every engagement left you feeling richer.

✅Buzzing mind - I was awake a 1.00, 3.00 and 4.00 every night, digesting the conversations. Only COVID has ever had me up but for the opposite reason

✅Some incredible speakers, @kellyrutherford, @anaivanovic, @judith_erlach_mdl, John "Slick" Baum and @sannusarav to name a few.

✅Bits & Pretzels Founders Festival ended with their legendary Startup Pitch Final on the main Bits & Pretzels Stage at Oktoberfest at the Festhalle Schottenhamel organized by Clemens Baumgärtner. The winner was Pixel Robotics GmbH. 🍻

If you find yourself in Germany in September next year, get yourself a ticket for this premier event. 💯

Twenty years ago, I hosted my first event.

To be quite honest, I didn’t host it because I had an inner calling, or because I thought this was such a cool thing to do.

I hosted it because I had to.

I was organizing an event at Alpamare, the world-class swimming pool in my hometown of Bad Tölz.

They had one of these standing waves, a FlowRider.

It was my second event there, the Endless Peaks Surf Jam, and it was my own initiative.

The first one came with a TV team and a presenter.

The second one didn’t.

So there was a gap to fill because there was no one else up for hosting the event.

So I said, "Okay, then I’ll do it."

As the participants for the competition arrived, I collected some basic information, so I would have something to talk about.

I picked up the microphone and started speaking.

I don’t know if I was good that day, but when I look at that photo, I can already see there was an energy and a commitment to giving it my best shot.

Twenty years later, that’s exactly what I do.

I give every single audience the best version of myself.

And I have to say, I am incredibly blessed and grateful.

The young boy from a small Bavarian town of 16,000 people has come quite a long way.

Hosting events on four continents with audiences of thousands of people.

Being on stage with A-list celebrities such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Michelle Obama, Pep Guardiola and many others.

All while working for some of the world’s most desirable brands.

I would have never imagined any of this.

And all of it started by stepping up to the occasion, taking responsibility, and saying: Why not? Why not me?

Here’s to twenty years.

Time to celebrate and time to say thank you to everyone who supported me on this journey.

First and foremost, Stefan Anselm and Dr. Anton Höfler, who allowed me to first pick up the microphone back in 2006, and to everyone else who has been supporting me on my journey since then.

Here’s to the next twenty and more.

And get ready, there will also be some gifts coming your way.

Bits & Pretzels 26 was once again a spectacular event.

To host the liquid networking at the Oktoberfest together with Lara Sophie Bothur is every single time a memory that lasts for a lifetime.

But before the session starts, all the table captains meet up at The Teufelsrad - Devil’s Wheel - one of the oldest rides at the Oktoberfest.

Connect, network, and also have a little bit of fun.

And yes, I did participate in the session.

To kick off the table captain sessions, Lara and I created a human moment.

As Bits & Pretzels theme is human, after all.

We got everybody to participate in the heartbeat of Bits.

Bring everyone together.

A simple moment that makes everybody feel connected and feel the power that 5000 people have when they all come together.

With one mission.

To take the European startup ecosystem to the next level.

Thanks again to everybody from the Bits & Pretzels team for having me.

It's been a blast.

Another great day at Bits & Pretzels Founders Festival.

The day was full of inspiring sessions and guests that will stay with me long after I’ve left the building.

One of the highlights for me was hosting the Golden Pretzel Award and seeing the teams that I’d coached on Monday putting forward their best pitches.

They were all amazing but there can only be one winner and that was Molecular Works.

I love that they brought in the wow factor to the stage with the rose and created a memorable moment.

To wrap it all up, Dara Khosrowshahi complimented my hosting skills.

While praise is not why I do what I do, it feels good to know your efforts and hard work pay off.

Now I’m on my way to Oktoberfest!

What an amazing first day of @bitsandpretzels Founders Festival 2026.

Started with hosting the pre-rounds of the Golden Pretzel Startup Competition and excited for this afternoon to see who wins!

They're all great.

I also did some pitch training to give the participants one last elevation to their pitch.

A highlight of the day was meeting Trevor Noah - a great moment and a reminder that the most powerful communicators do more than speak well.

They help people see a familiar idea in a new way.

One of Trevor Noah’s points that stayed with me was this: value is always evolving.

What we take from a difficult situation often depends on our disposition.

A setback can stay a setback, or become a lesson that changes how we move forward.

Looking forward to hosting Oktoberfest tomorrow! Catch you there!
