More details of EXO 01 and soon also presented in the groupshow „Objects on trial” curated by @bureau.parso & @meeseek.kr
during @dutchdesignweek 💐

17-25.October
Herinneringscentrum Hornemann
Stadhuisplein 3, Eindhoven

EXO 01 approaches the vase more as a support structure than as a container. Inspired by braces used to hold and align parts of the body, the work applies this principle to flowers. A series of individual aluminium elements supports each stem, fixing its position while allowing the flowers to form a larger sculptural arrangement. The rigid structure and the organic postures of the flowers create a visual unity, establishing a relationship between control and growth, individuality and composition. Rather than separating the roles of structure and ornament, the work makes them dependent on one another: the framework supports and organises the flowers, while the flowers activate and complete the structure.
