Embellishing should not distract. I think too often an artist fails to stop. It is always hard for me to add to beautiful form. I ask myself can more make it better?

Chee Bravo (Area 1, Miami) has graciously stepped into the role of Membership Chair for the Florida Artists Group. She is succeeding Linda Chipperfield (Area 6, Jacksonville) who now serves as FLAG Webmaster with assistance from Liz Murphy Thomas.

An accomplished artist and dedicated advocate for the arts, Chee has built a strong reputation for her bold, colorful works that encompass a range of mediums, including printmaking, painting, digital collage, bricolage, and immersive installation. She has exhibited her work nationally and internationally.

We are also grateful to Linda for her years of service as Membership Chair and appreciate her continued contributions in her new role. With a background in design, illustration, and environmental advocacy, Linda’s artistic practice is distinguished by strong graphic elements and a deep appreciation for the natural world.

Thank you all for your hard work, creativity, and commitment to making FLAG such a vibrant arts organization! Learn more about these artists and the full roster of artist members at flordaartistsgroup.org #floridaartists #floridaartistsgroup #supportthearts by @floridaartistsgroup

Please join us in welcoming Liz Murphy Thomas as the new Area 6 (Jacksonville) Chair for FLAG! Liz joined FLAG in 2024 and was recognized with the Circle Foundation of Art Digital Membership Award in the 2026 Annual Exhibition. As both an artist and educator, her photography explores themes related to tourist economies and the conceptual histories of tourist sights in an ongoing examination of identity, memory, and the associations we give to personal possessions.

Liz steps into the role following Vicky Lennon, who has served as Area 6 Chair since 2021 and has been a dedicated FLAG member since 2019. Vicky is known for her non-objective paintings that emphasize vibrant color palettes and richly layered textures. Her work is often inspired by her travel and life experiences and she has exhibited extensively throughout Florida and the Southeast. We extend our sincere gratitude to Vicky for her years of leadership and lasting contributions to the Jacksonville chapter of FLAG.

Please join us in welcoming Sophia Lacroix as the new Treasurer of Florida Artists Group! Sophia joined FLAG in 2024 as an Area 1 member (Miami) and earned Best in Show in the 2024 Annual Exhibition and First Place in 2025. Her vibrant hyper-realistic oil paintings and charcoal drawings reflect nostalgic memories of Haiti.
Sophia will be stepping into the role as Claire Radigan (Area 5 - Orlando) transitions out over the coming months. We’re deeply grateful to Claire for her dedication and hard work over the past 4 years. A practicing artist for over 30 years, Claire creates work that merges physical and mental landscapes while exploring themes tied to contemporary American life and memory.
