Yet another wonderful Confidence Booster course in the bag last weekend. Glorious sun shone down as we took it back to basics and built up across the weekend, culminating in styling Town Falls (as well as new eddies at Serpents and surfing new waves, feeling in control!). Big thanks to guest coach @sarahsescapades for joining us this weekend; bringing the stoke and the take out cake! Cheers to @nic_pearce_adventuring for the Town Falls footage. #kayakcoaching #confidence #confidencebuilding #flowfreecoaching #sunshine #whitewaterismagic #riverdee #llangollen #walesneverfails #dee by @flowfree_coaching

It was a busy weekend for NUCC last weekend! Here is what we got up to… by @flowfree_coaching
A few weeks ago some of our members spent 2 days in North Wales completed their WWSR (White Water Safety and Rescue) course. We learnt a lot about safe group management techniques and rescue techniques, while starting our journey to become river leaders so we can keep sharing our love of Whitewater kayaking. We also had a lot of fun in the process! Thank you to @flowfree_lowri for the amazing course and @universityofbristol Gamechangers program for helping our development. by @flowfree_coaching
This weekend was the hugely successful Student Whitewater Safety Weekend in North Wales. 63 students. 12 world class coaches. 2 days focused on how to keep each other safe while having the best time ever. All abilities and experience levels. We were blessed with rain giving us a range of river sections to suit all needs and then the sun came out to enjoy the water in! Here’s Team 4 (@newcastleunicanoeclub and @bangorunicanoeclub) with FlowFree coach @flowfree_lowri learning river reading, safe group management, an introduction to leading and some safety and rescue along the way on the River Llugwy. SWSW will be beck next year to support and develop more student paddlers. Keep an eye on SWSW.boats for info on dates and sign up!
