Sometimes you overthink your way out of doing something and when you finally start you wonder why you ever delayed 😅 so here’s 3 things I’d tell you if you said you were nervous about starting cloth:

1. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing! Just because you have got cloth nappies doesn’t mean you can’t also use disposables. One cloth nappy a day is better than none, do what you can manage and what works for your family (BUT it is easier if you use more than one cloth nappy a day as it makes the washing side of things easier to manage)

2. They are so user friendly! With so many snaps and absorbency options you can almost always make the nappy work for your baby no matter their size or stage. You have the flexibility to adjust the nappies as you need to without having to buy the next size up.

3. You’ll probably touch more poo with baby in a disposables than you will in cloth! When washing the nappies you don’t touch the poo (I mean, unless you want too?) you use your washing machine to do most of the dirty work for you. Up until baby starts solids the poop can go straight into the machine and be easily dissolved. Once babies on solid you simply need to shimmy the poop off into the toilet (using a poop brush/knife or even the flush of the toilet)

What’s one piece of advice you’d share to a nervous parent that has a stash hiding in a drawer?!

Sometimes parent hood changes you in ways you’d never expect - like getting a takeaway dinner to celebrate your first full week in cloth nappies! When you’re in the trenches those peak moments can feel a little different than they used too!

One of our favourite things about the baby expos is getting to show all the grandparents that used the old style cloth nappies just how far we have come! No more safety pins, scrubbing or soaking. Simply an adjustable shell and great washing machines that do majority of the work for you 🩵

The only too old is when they’re toilet trained - and even then you can still use reusables over night if needed! Our OSFM will fit most babies from new born right through to toilet training, but if you have a bigger kiddo we also have our wonderful XL nappies that are made with the same great for, just that little bit bigger. It’s never too late to start, so just go for it!

We often get asked if you can “tell the difference” between the XL and OSFM nappies, so we thought we would show you how they look with the OSFM on top of the XL and the hip snap wing shape as they are different.

The bigger size gives you room for your bigger baby/toddler to grow and works great as an overnight nappy for smaller babies as there’s more room for lots of absorbent layers!
