Missing a TFR can get you into serious trouble, and it’s easy to overlook a new restriction.
Since I fly multiple times a day, I programmed my own automated warning system that alerts me when a new TFR pops up. And the cool part? You can build one too!

✈️😢Guess that wasn’t exactly a high speed taxiway exit🤷‍♂️. These poor #Bushwheels sure do get a good workout in protecting our #cessna ….amazing to see the bend the tire will take and not walk off the rim, min tire inflation pressure is certainly a thing to respect and also shows why those six bolt wheels might be a good upgrade over the three bolt wheels. Have fun out there and check your tire pressure!

Have you ever changed your decision making in the cockpit because of how it might look to someone on the ground?

It's an uncomfortable question, but one every pilot should ask themselves.

What happens when the fear of scrutiny changes the way we fly?

Does it make aviation safer or simply make pilots less willing to make the safest decision?

I break down what happened, what I'd do differently and the lesson i hope every pilot takes away from it.

I surprised my friends with a night stay in a CONVERTED AIRPLANE in Alaska at the @fly8ma pilot lodge... and then I had a pilot fly us out to a glacier. They we’re a bit skeptical at first when they saw the plane we we’re flying in but after we got in the air, they were blown away by how beautiful Alaska was from above! What an incredible experience! #alaska #uniqueairbnb #alaskalife by @fly8ma

This accident raises an important question...

How much can an overweight airplane and the wrong flap setting affect takeoff performance?

In this accident analysis, we break down the decisions leading up to the crash and discuss the lessons every pilot can take away, including one that's often overlooked... having an abort point before every takeoff.

by far the most impressive thing I saw at the car launch! You can do that!? 🤯#CliffLaunchAK #CarsOffACliff #AlaskaBoom #DemolitionDrop #ExplosiveSendoff by @fly8ma

🛻🏔️Craziest 4th of July ever!!! Alaska knows how to have Fourth of July right! Too much daylight to really enjoy any fireworks, so instead one of the locals volunteers his 500 acre piece of land along the river to help dispose of old cars. Fully operational, they put a brick on the gas pedal and strap the steering wheel to steer it straight off the cliff to plunge to its final parking space below. 33 cars launched this year, quite the fire as they exploded below and even a C130 made a few low passes. Happy birthday America! Here’s to another 250 years of craziness and #freedom

Alaska may be unlike anywhere else, yet in its vastness and quiet, you find something deeply familiar like a piece of yourself you’ve known all along. 👑

This screen told us EXACTLY what was failing.

Using the Dynon SkyView System by @dynonavionics , we were able to identify which cylinder was acting up instead of just guessing.

By confirming it was the left magneto and matching it to the affected cylinder, we were able to narrow down exactly which spark plug needed to be inspected.

Modern avionics like this are incredible troubleshooting tools, not just fancy displays.
