The City of Santa Barbara and SBA are seeking public feedback on the draft Airport Climate Adaptation Plan (CAP). The plan outlines strategies to help protect airport infrastructure and the Goleta Slough’s valuable wetland habitats from climate-related risks, including sea level rise and severe flooding.

Today, Santa Barbara Airport honored Officer Rickey Callahan in recognition of his 24 years of dedicated service to SBA and the law enforcement profession.

Throughout his career, Rickey has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to public safety, the Airport Police team, and the airport community. His extensive knowledge, years of experience, and advocacy for fellow officers have made a lasting impact on our organization.

As a token of appreciation for his service and contributions, Santa Barbara Police Chief Kelly Gordon presented Rickey with a flag representing honor, loyalty, and duty, values he has embodied throughout his career.

SBA is hosting a community blood drive on Wednesday, November 18 from 9am-3pm inside the Historic Ovington Terminal. The event is a collaborative effort between @delta @americanredcross & SBA, bringing together local partners to support patients in need.

🎨This Art & Humanities Month, take a moment to look down and discover a little piece of Santa Barbara beneath your feet. Located inside the terminal, “Santa Barbara 360°” by @lorianndavid is a stunning 20-foot-diameter tile mosaic inspired by the extraordinary flora, trees, mountains, ocean views, and Spanish Revival and Moorish architecture that make Santa Barbara so unique.

💠Created in collaboration with Vidya Gauci and installed in 2011, the medallion features more than 500,000 hand-cut tiles, forming a continuous 360° interpretation of our local landscape. It’s just one of the many ways art and culture take flight at SBA.
