Hey there 👋 I’m Ms Jae, one half of fo0die 🙋🏻‍♀️

fo0die is a passion project, a hobby of ours where we prefer to remain behind the camera and put the food in front and centre of the camera and fo0die.

We don’t consider ourselves ‘influencers’ but have been labelled as such. We just like to create and capture foodie moments in the most beautiful way possible 📸

Follow us, DM us if you have any questions - we’d love to hear from you on this very busy platform of 3 second hooks and quick edits. by @fo0die

🇻🇳 Vietnamese in Deepdene! @districtpho

A very busy and cozy venue that’s pretty much ‘in and out’ with sauces placed at the counter rather than at each table.

The noodle was smooth and didn’t break apart.
The brisket and raw beef were tender and plentiful.
Broth is flavourful, clear with a mild beef flavour.

🗓️ October - feeling grateful

I started a new job.
I felt like the new girl in class 😅
We had a scare with Mr J’s job.

This month we are grateful.
Grateful for you all.
Grateful we have each other.
Grateful for the opportunities.
Grateful we can put food on our table.
Grateful we can afford to visit these venues.

Ever had a pie for lunch and felt it wasn’t quite enough? 🫠

Did you know @danielsdonutsaustralia has come out with mega pies? 🥧

We were told it’s 50% larger than their normal pie (300g vs 200g) 🤔

But we had our doubts and thought we could have 1.5 pies but no… we were full after a mega pie each (there’s 25g of protein in the beef and lamb pies!) 🤭

If you like chunky filling rather than eating just gravy filling, give these a try. We were very pleasantly surprised! Good value at $8.90 for a meal 🙌🏼

Back at @ona.melbourne having a long overdue sisters catch up.

Ms C and Mr M had previously been to Ona as part of a collab and spoke very highly of the food and ambiance so naturally I wanted to experience it myself too (sorry @mr.j.melb!)

A later gram of my visit to @reddoorcornerstore

We went at the tail end of the season’s menu so the dishes have been slightly tweaked now with the new seasonal menu.

There’s no doubt this is a local favourite. It was very busy even on a weekday!

🍵 Trying @madeinmatchaco’s single cultivar ceremonial grade matcha today. Described as “sweet, silky, faintly floral, with a clean astringency that lifts rather than lingers”, this matcha comes through even in a milky latte.

Mr J’s coffee equivalent in the morning is a matcha latte and for years we used culinary grade matcha not knowing any better.

But once you’ve had ceremonial grade it’s very hard to go back 🙈

🎃 @choced.au’s October limited flavour has arrived!

I opened this on a warm sunny day - the room was warm and my tummy was warm. If you like toasted cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger flavours, this one is for you.

Spiced pumpkin is creamy, warm, aromatic and melts in your mouth. Even the mini’s enjoyed it!

Another catch up with good food, drinks and company!

This time at @kopcha.cafe (Nunawading) located in a small strip of shops in a predominately industrial area. I thought I took the wrong turn as I was making my way there 🙈

Try to go on a weekday else early on a weekend as there’s generally a queue.

🗓️ Our anniversary dinners looking a little different with two mini’s trying to get to the food before the 📸, climbing up on seats to be monkeys, making drums out of the cutlery on the table 🙈

We took the opportunity to try @mrroman_eatery, opened by the same team as @st.albertspizzeria which is one of our favourite places to get pizza from.

Check out their generous portions!

🗓️ September - when reality sunk in.

I had no job after taking the redundancy package.
I thought I’d take a couple of months’ break.
I got bored.
And I felt like I wasn’t achieving a lot day to day.

So I set myself a to do list 📝
I celebrated the little wins 🥂
I went out to explore a few venues to support their small businesses 🍽️ - these are the few venues I got around to in September.
