I genuinely can’t believe a whole year has come and gone. The past year felt like life was on 2x speed but we thank God we get to see another year 🎈alive and well sha… even though this past year tried it, it’s only God and the community I am blessed to be apart of that has kept me sha…

With each birthday, I always try to find a word or a theme to help guide the year and the intentionality I want to have and this year it’s ~ fundamentals and back to the basics. Anyone that knows me knows I love art and I am deeply inspired by art and the artists who make the works. This past year I have been thinking about why I love art and artists beyond the beauty of the pieces created, every artist I revere does the basics and the fundamentals extremely well and even as they have grown and shifted styles or medium that trait has been consistent and that is how I want to frame the next year and all the years ahead. All that to say, all this English I am yanning is an excuse for my yearly dump of my favourite FJ moments!!!

Here’s to another year of intentional living, doing the fundamentals well and continuing to enjoy the life I have carved out! by @folajuo

I am posting on feed again which can only mean it’s my birthday! 🥳🎉🎂🎈

With each birthday, my age is becoming very serious and I don’t like this at all! I was born to vibe, look at and create art and drink artisanal coffee but I am forced to lock in and work. Wait, thats a lie - I do those things very often (minus the ‘create art’ part - I will get back to it before you people drag me by my baggy sokoto). The older I get, the more I appreciate and strive to spend my days doing what I love and living in the most “joie de vivre” way possible!

I usually have a word or phrase that guides the new birth year, and this year it is a Yoruba proverb: “Ọwọ́ la fi ń tún orí ara ẹni ṣe.” It means: “It is with one’s own hands that one directs one’s destiny”. Basically, it’s a warning that if I like I should drop the ball and get washed. All jokes aside, it’s a beautiful reminder of the agency that I have to shape my life with my choices and actions.

So, here’s to another year of showing ankles & wearing backless shoes, fighting away uncle body, showing up and doing the right things for the life that I want. by @folajuo

Omo, we made it to see another year! 🥳🎉🎂🎈

I was reminded today that it’s a privilege to grow older, and all I can do is thank God for allowing me to see a new age. Speaking of, every time I say my age out loud it, it shocks me but every time I stand up my knees remind me that it is accurate. ‘Agba ti de’ as my Yoruba people would say.

New year, same goals: Still on these roads running, still in the gym - say no to uncle body. Here’s to more life, more blessings, creating memories and forever fighting being washed and adopting an uncle body.

Ladi said I am getting drippier with age, here are some of my favourite moments! by @folajuo

Another year around the sun 🎈. My knees hurt for no reason but my ankles stay shining. Added mules to the rotation, now we are part of “Business in the front and Party in the back” gang.

Traded Hennessy for the finest of artisanal coffee. Still running a lot even though I would rather be in bed eating croissants and watching anime but we say no to uncle body and get to work.

Esther labelled me an “Artistic Agbero”, so here is my favourite selection of Art Heaux moments, enjoy! by @folajuo
