We are Xuan and Denise 👋🏼 Wives and co-founders of The Ground Retreats. For over ten years we have built businesses together, side by side, through everything.

We poured into Legacy Doral, Makasi, and Hush and Thrive with everything we had. Our clients, our employees, our community always came first. We loved what we built. But somewhere along the way, without even noticing, we stopped showing up for ourselves.

It took one honest conversation and one trip to realize how much we had been carrying. How long we had been mistaking exhaustion for dedication.

The Ground Retreats was not born from a business plan. It was born from a personal reckoning.

there’s something about being on the back of a scooter that instantly takes me back to Bali.

that feeling of freedom. taking the scenic route. pulling over whenever something catches your eye.

tulum gives me that same feeling all over again. maybe that’s why these places have such a special place in my heart.

Today’s surprise date had us driving all over Miami searching for photo booths, collecting tiny strips of memories one stop at a time 💕📸

Every strip of photos feels like a tiny time capsule; messy hair, genuine laughs, silly faces, and a reminder that the best memories are usually the simplest ones.

Some places leave an impression. Others leave a mark on your soul 💫🌿 Tulum was always meant to be the beginning of this chapter.

After our first visit last September, we couldn’t stop talking about it. We knew that when the time came to create our very first @thegroundretreats , this was where it belonged.

Months of dreaming.
Months of planning.
Months of trusting that it would all come together.

The dining table was never just about the food 💫🌿

It was the two hours that turned into four. The conversation that started light and somehow went somewhere real.

This doesn’t happen often. Being fully present at a table, no distractions, no half-listening, just people and food and time that felt unhurried.

This is one of the parts of the retreat nobody expects to be the thing they talk about most after. This is the community we’re building. Not just on the mat or in ceremony.

Before I share everything Tulum gave us, I have to start here 🖤

The days leading up to our retreat were nothing like we imagined. Instead of packing with excitement, we were worried about our little Lilou after a health scare that completely shifted our focus.

There are moments that remind you what actually matters.

Endlessly grateful to my mom, who stepped in without hesitation so we could still pour our hearts into the retreat we’d spent months creating. And even more grateful to this tiny little soul who reminded us what resilience looks like.

Our fifth element. Stronger than we knew. Back to being our happy, playful, healthy baby.

Looking back now, I realize Tulum wasn’t the beginning of the story. This was 💫🌿

Sometimes the greatest adventures begin after you’ve been reminded not to take a single moment for granted✨

Early morning yoga on the first full day. Sweat, breath, intention 💫🌿🧘‍♀️

We didn’t ease into the retreat. We moved through it from the very first morning, setting the tone for everything that was coming. By the time we finished, the group was connected, the body was awake, the day was wide open and breakfast was being prepared 🥰

2027 is already taking shape, and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with you 💫🌿 (swipe through →)

Three retreats. Three completely different landscapes. One thing in common; they’re all designed to bring you back to yourself.

Costa Rica is up first. Think rainforest canopy, ocean air, and a pace of life that makes you wonder why we ever convinced ourselves we had to move so fast.

Then Bali; rice terraces that go on forever, water temples that have been sacred for centuries, and a version of slow most of us forgot was possible.

And closing out the year, the South of France; red cliffs dropping into the Mediterranean, centuries-old stone, the kind of beauty that makes you stop talking for a second.
