2025: the year I finally started doing the thing I love most, in the place I love most.

Some days… most days, it feels like I’m starting from scratch, navigating the differences of the volleyball world here in Costa Rica, whether it’s building my Spanish volleyball vocabulary, improvising with minimal equipment and court space, adjusting my clock for “tico time”, or training in the beating sun and scalding sand - or in a muggy gym with no AC.
None of the chaos or differences can change what coaching is really about — seeing kids fall in love with the game. I’ll never take a moment of teaching these kids for granted, as they’ve taught me more than they could ever imagine.

Coaching in this country I’ve grown to love so much is a dream come true. 12 year old Sophia would never believe it. Forever thankful for how this country and the people have changed my life. 🤍
