Introducing Connect Café

This November, we’re launching Connect Café, a new program designed to help members of B.C.’s creative technology community connect, meet new people, and share ideas across the industry.

We’re currently looking for volunteers to participate in the pilot phase and help us test the new system.

Connect Café is open to people at all career stages and experience levels. Once registered on the online platform, participants can match with another member of the creative tech community for a virtual 1:1 conversation. Whether you’re interested in meeting someone working in a different area of the industry, connecting over shared interests, learning about a new career path, or simply having a conversation with someone you might not otherwise meet, Connect Café is about creating space for informal conversations and new connections.

The pilot will run through the month of November, and we’re welcoming volunteers to try out the system and provide constructive feedback.

Interested in taking part? Get in touch with us at connect@digibc.org to indicate your interest. by @follow_digibc

Experience "Twenty Twenty-Five", an interactive installation by Vancouver-based new media artist Ghazal Majidi, presented as part of MUTEK x VIFF Live.

The work uses the viewer’s reflection and body as a lens, bringing images from an archive of airstrikes into view and inviting audiences to consider how we encounter, interpret, and distance ourselves from images of conflict.
