We arrived in sunny San Sebastián and stayed in a spacious apartment 20 mins bus ride from the old town. The first dinner we had was sponsored by Mercado - double punnet of giant prawns for only €6! Could have easily fed 4 people. The next few days were very food focused. Finding things to do in between meals. We had a mix of rain, wind then lovely sunshine. Ate some of the best mushroom, croquettes and fish of my life. It’s worth coming here if you are a big foodie. There is a lot of tourism here, but it was easy going in off season. I don’t know if I could face the hours of queuing in the summer. 🫣 Homeward bound via Bilbao > Santander and ⛴️ to Plymouth. taken in Donostia-San Sebastián by @foofonfire

Bonjour Bordeaux! Salut Vin! 🍷 What a beautiful clean city with very relaxed happy people. Such a contrast from Paris. 😅 The layout reminds me of Bristol and Bath but with the bonus of a very well constructed public transport system 👌 (trams ♥️). Such beautiful buildings and exciting city vibes - more than I expected! Wish I could have stayed longer to sample more foodie delights…. I’ll be back! taken in Bordeaux, France by @foofonfire

Train adventure to Paris! 🇫🇷 Only 3.5 hours from London… No airport queues, arrive just 40 mins before we set off 🚂 (compared to 2hours at the airport 🫠). Slipped into tourist mode almost instantly. My feet are aching, my belly is full, my heart is happy! Patisserie is life! Next stop - Bordeaux 🍷 taken in Paris, France by @foofonfire

2016 will forever hold a special place in my heart. ❤️🔥

This was my year travelling through South East Asia (Sept 2015 to Feb 2017). These photos barely touch the surface of the journey from Thai islands to Cambodian temples, Filipino beaches to Malaysian mountain peaks and ending in Vietnamese classroom.

The year kicked off with Pete and I partying into 2016 in Koh Phangan with a little Bristol crew (as you do 🎉). We island-hopped through Thailand before heading to Cambodia in February for a month, visting Siem Reap's ancient temples, the chaos of Phnom Penh, and the beautiful islands off Sihanoukville.
March took us to the Philippines where we briefly touched through Manila before exploring Palawan's paradise island. Then I went solo (whilst Pete did his jungle trek) to Bali for a month of yoga, fresh healthy food, and pure bliss, before reuniting with him and another Bristol crew in Malaysia to climb Mount Kinabalu (13,435ft - that was tough!).
After beach recovery time, I flew back to Bangkok (said goodbye to Pete 😭) for my TEFL studying, then a short summer back in Bristol with loved ones. In August I flew out to Hanoi, then caught the train down to Hue where I lived in Vietnam for the rest of 2016 teaching 5-6 days a week, getting occasional weekends off for exploring (until the contract finished Jan 2017).

Adventurous. Challenging. Joyful. Emotional. Eventful. 2016 was all of that and more. The memories are flooding back (plus I've enjoyed scrolling through 1000s of photos, pre-Instagram). I'm so grateful I got to live this chapter. 🎉

Lots of historical sites walking around Madrid. This place is brimming with history. The long awaited and overdue birthday present for my dad, only 2.5 years late. It was for his 70th bday (he’s now 73 😆). It was a beautiful evening, couldn’t have asked for better skies. 💙 It really is an experience! It’s so peaceful up there as well! We departed from Pumpkin Patch, nr Saltford and went over Bath and nr Chew Valley Lake before setting down somewhere (some guy’s field 🤷) and headed back to Bristol. Celebrating 20 years with my favourite ♥️ human @infinity_chandeliers. We went to a tasting menu experience at one Michelin star 🌟 Mana in Manchester. We were blown away by the food - totally worth the hefty price tag. #manamanchester taken in Restaurant mana by @foofonfire
