“Within AMADE, the Association des Amis de l’Enfance which I chair, we have developed a range of programmes to protect and develop children throughout the world. AMADE is based on a vision: that of a world where every child, whatever their social, religious or cultural background, can live with dignity, in safety and with their fundamental rights respected. A world where every child can fully express his or her potential.” — H.R.H. The Princess of Hanover (Princess Caroline)

“The Humanitarian Legacy of Princess Grace: How Capoeira For Peace changed the lives of thousands of children” is the story of how @flavio_saudade founded @gingando_pela_paz, an NGO partner of AMADE that uses capoeira as a way to help thousands of children.

Did you know Princess Grace loved to cast horoscopes for her friends? ♏️

Happy October! 🍂
My new article, "A Scorpio Princess: The Mystical Side of Grace Kelly" for @montecarlotimes, is out now! 💌

Princess Grace was photographed celebrating her 40th birthday at the infamous "Scorpion Ball"—an exclusive party where the guest list only allowed Scorpios and their partners—held at the Hôtel Hermitage in Monte-Carlo on November 15, 1969.

"I’ve dressed thousands of actors, actresses and animals, but whenever I am asked which star is my personal favorite, I answer, ‘Grace Kelly.’ She is a charming lady, a most gifted actress and, to me, a valued friend." — Edith Head, costume designer

My new article for @montecarlotimes is out now! 💌

To celebrate the release anniversaries of Rear Window (1954) and To Catch a Thief (1955)—both released in August—I wrote a piece about Grace Kelly’s work with Alfred Hitchcock. In it, I explore the fashion influence of the movies, share an anecdote from the set of Rear Window, and discuss Princess Grace’s near-return to the movie screen in 1962.

This post is a celebration of Grace Kelly and Edith Head’s enduring influence on the fashion world.
In the first part, we look at @taylorswift taking inspiration from Grace’s dress in Rear Window for her music video "Me!". In the second part, I highlight @alexandramalenaleclerc, the wife of @charles_leclerc, honoring Grace at the Red Cross Ball last year by wearing a design inspired by To Catch a Thief. Most recently, supermodel @paulinaporizkov wore a wedding dress inspired by the same gown Grace wore in the same movie.

What is your favorite outfit Grace Kelly wore in Alfred Hitchcock’s films?

"She loved to film. Maybe it stems from her days of being in front of the camera and now she wanted to film herself, but I think she wanted to capture those wonderful family moments." — H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco about his mother Grace

"I’ve always been interested in fashion and textile design, and Helen (Rose) was a diplomat. She knew how to steer actresses away from a favorite color or line if it did not suit them or the role. I also observed her tactfully get a producer or director, who was fixed on a certain idea, to change his mind if that particular thing was unflattering for the star. I knew very little of the period (of "The Swan"), so I did some research in New York before going out to California for my fittings. The Empire look had come back into fashion for just a few years leading up to the 1914 war, and it was an enchanting look. I was thrilled when I saw Helen’s sketches and some of the exquisite fabrics she selected" — Grace

“The relationship between a mother and a daughter is a complex thing, the mother occupies an all-powerful place, even when she is loving and tender… There is no question of comparisons, but there are mirrors. When I watch films of my grandmother, I see in her your grace, your requirement, your discipline and your mystery too.” — Charlotte Casiraghi to her mother Princess Caroline about Princess Grace

"For me, she is above all my mother’s mother. I would really have liked to know her and talk with her. From what my mother tells me, from what we hear, she was a very funny person, with ideas, who had character and who was a very admirable person on all levels." — Camille Rose Gottlieb about her grandmother Grace

"People described me as the ‘perfect princess.’ It’s so silly. In my work, and it is hard work, and in bringing up my family I just try, like any woman, to do the best that I can." — Grace

"Ingrid Bergman made an enormous impression on me. I couldn’t imagine where that kind of acting talent came from." — Grace

"Maybe because I was about to leave Hollywood, I felt relaxed and could just let the character have her way—I didn’t impose myself on her. You know, the original story was set in Philadelphia. Well, I knew all about those Main Line snobs, but you couldn’t look down on them or condemn them, or else the character would have become insufferably arrogant. I tried to find the point where her haughtiness was a cover for insecurity, and for the pain she felt over her father’s thoughtless behavior." — Grace

"If there is one thing that is foreign to me it is shopping for pleasure. On the other hand, I believe that it is right to honour all those who create beautiful things and give satisfaction to those who see me wearing them." — Grace

Grace Kelly winning the award for "Best Dressed Woman of 1955" at Neiman Marcus in Dallas, Texas in September, 1955.

Downtown Dallas Neiman Marcus closed permanently last week. It’s a shame that this iconic store is closing instead of being turned into a museum.

@historyundressed made a petition to try to save the store! I’ll leave the link to it in my bio.

I trust y’all to help save this piece of Grace history! 🤍 by @forgracekelly

"Everyone who knew the Grimaldis, as well as casual visitors and those who had a glimpse of the family at home or away, realized that Rainier and Grace were devoted and attentive parents. "I didn’t ever want them to be strangers relegated to the other end of the house," Grace said, refusing to copy the ways of parents with children she had seen in Hollywood and in many European homes. She got down on the floor or the grass to play games with them; they always took their meals with their parents; Grace helped them with homework; and a certain discipline prevented them (at least until their teenage years) from imitating the worst habits of spoiled, wealthy children. Skillfully and unselfconsciously combining her American ways with a royal lifestyle, she was loved and respected by both her children and her "subjects", whom she greeted warmly, as if they were old acquaintances." — "High Society: Grace Kelly and Hollywood" by Donald Spoto
