Sonja Henie was one of Hollywood’s leading hostesses and here are some snaps of Sonja giving parties or attending others…

From the 30s to the 50s; Ingrid Bergman; numerous photos with Clark Gable; Liberace and Judy Garland; Marcel Cerdan(killed in a plane crash) and Edith Piaf; Liberace and Susan Hayward; Faye Emerson, Piaf, Judy and Ginger Rogers; with her old 20th Century-Fox boss Darryl F Zanuck; Ann Blyth and Joan Crawford; Lana Turner; with Gable and his ill-faited wife Carole Lombard who was also killed in a plane crash 1942; in love with Tyrone Power; meeting Alfred Hitchcock with Ingrid - and finally Judy, Sonja and Liberace again at her legendary circus party, Ciro’s 1955

Sonja also passed away in a plane - Paris-Oslo 1969, from leukemia

The song is from her legendary Movie Classic «Sun Valley Serenade» 1941 co-starring Glenn Miller, John Payne, Milton Berle and Lynn Bari

🎞️ A rare, almost sacred glimpse into history.

What an absolute privilege it was to be in Monaco this weekend as an invited guest of the @institut_audiovisuel_monaco. During Friday evening's beautiful ciné-conférence at the @grimaldiforum, we were shown this short, extraordinary reel—which is also currently featured in the Institut's exhibition.

This footage captures a deeply moving moment: Princess Grace in her iconic wedding gown in the Cour d’Honneur, captured just moments before the religious wedding ceremony. The man moving behind her, capturing those timeless photographs, is none other than her trusted friend and personal photographer, Howell Conant. To see her so serene and majestic through his lens feels truly sacred✨️

📸 Vintage Hollywood Spotlight: The Style of Mogambo (1953) 🌍✨

A masterclass in character storytelling through fashion. 🎬 In this classic production still from John Ford’s African adventure romance, legendary MGM costume designer Helen Rose beautifully utilizes style to emphasize the narrative duality between its two leading ladies.
✨ Ava Gardner exuded effortless, free-spirited American glamour in a striking strapless white pleated chiffon midi dress.
✨ Grace Kelly projected rigid upper-class modesty and polished British decorum in a highly structured, button-down patterned A-line day dress.
✨ Clark Gable anchored the love triangle as the definitive mid-century safari archetype, wearing a custom gabardine bush shirt cinched tightly at the waist.
From rugged bush jackets to pristine mid-century silhouettes, Mogambo solidified a legacy of “safari chic” that still inspires the fashion world today.
