The 2024 Jones x @forrestshearer LTD Signature Series. “The Hovercraft has been my favorite shape in the Jones line since forever. It’s easy to cut loose on, yet it’s so stable at speed. McFetridge is a multi-disciplinary artist whose paintings, drawings, sculptures, animations, and graphics have been featured in galleries and on consumer products around the world.“It was an honor to do a pro model for Forrest and I wanted to create a board that felt like it came directly out of his world - surf stickers on snowboards, snowboard stickers on bikes, trunks full of GORE-TEX and skateboards, sand in the snowboard boots. Outtakes from June in the Alaska Range with @nickrussell @nathanielmurphyTalkeetna — this is Romeo Charlie — @highcountrysurf is enroute to basecamp. The glacier has been our home for 16 days, a mosaic of mountain and sky unfolding as far as the eye can see. Wild places like this possess a unique capacity to humble. There is nothing watered down or saturated up here. The emotions experienced riding at altitude are like no other — nervous and intoxicated, senses completely tuned in, it takes everything in the body.Warmed up and ready — 17k riding Sunshine Face proper, me on a Messner variation exit. Frances was in great form. The plan was now to tick off Crosson and Foraker. We stopped just shy of the summit, content with our efforts and making good decisions. The turns were worth it on the descent. Now it’s time to pay our respects to the Sultana. From the scout flight in, conditions looked like outer space — completely untethered, out on the edge of the unknown. Total moving time: 27 hours from high camp. We all find deep appreciation for the scale of these massive mountains. In life, mediocrity can be truly exhausting — sometimes it’s good to live a little.To the big dogs Nick and Murph, much love for the quest and vision. Heliosphan weather.No second chances, no complaints. Any excuse to shoot with talented friends I look up to — I’ll take the window, even the ones that turn to whiteout. This photo set is from one opportunistic day in the backyard studio that stretched into sunset with Drew Smith. Grateful for the time shared in the hills. Drew, Ben, Eugénie and the crew at Arc have been pouring everything into Teeth to the Wind — an alpine climbing film featuring Michael Gardner and Sam Hennessey. A beautiful tribute to two souls who move through the mountains with grace, humility and pure love for the craft. Just premiered and took high honors at Mountainfilm. Congrats to everyone involved.
