It’s been months but no one has put in an application to adopt sweet foster Bear. I find myself on many nights silently crying not because he is a handful but because he is such an amazing dog who just wants to be loved and give love.

I tell him everyday how amazing he is and my home is his home.

Senior dog adoption is not adopting an old dog it’s giving an older vibrant pup a chance to live out their golden years in love and comfort. Bear is available for adoption @amaanimalrescue

🐾 “Bear’s Story Continues”

Today, Bear’s potential adopters didn’t show up.
A few hours before our meet and greet, they shared that they had to put adoption on hold and that’s okay.

Life gets messy. Timing falls apart. Hearts get pulled in other directions.
Maybe they weren’t ready. Maybe the universe just whispered, not yet.

But one thing I know for sure:
Somewhere out there, Bear’s forever family is waiting.
Maybe they don’t even know it yet but their home is missing one gentle, gray muzzled soul who just wants to be loved. 💛

Adopting a senior dog comes with questions.
How long will they be with me?
Will they stay healthy?
Why were they abandoned?
Can I handle their needs?

All fair questions.
And that’s why honest rescues matter. Transparency saves hearts on both sides.

So here’s Bear’s truth:
He has Cushing’s disease and a bladder prolapse, a medical condition that requires no extra care and he is NOT in pain.
He eats a special diet.
He takes one medication.
He loves food, talks back when he’s hungry, and melts when you tell him he’s a good boy.

He doesn’t need perfection.
He just needs someone who sees past the “what ifs” and into the “what is.”
Because what he is… is love. Pure, loyal, uncomplicated love.

Adopting a senior dog isn’t for everyone.
But for the person meant for Bear… it’ll be everything.

ADOPT BELLA 💕 Sweet three year old Bella is recovering from surgery (she had her tail amputated to fix the corkscrew which was digging into her body 😔, and she also got spayed). Thank you @amcny 🙏🏼 Please see the last slide to see what her foster parents think her ideal home would look like. We are going to dog test her again in the next couple of weeks now that she’s spayed and no longer in heat, once she’s recovered enough from her surgery to safely do so. Bella has been thriving in her foster home and would make a wonderful addition to a lucky family. While she doesn’t have separation anxiety, we would love to see her with a family whose parent works from home a couple times a week or who can bring her to the office. We took Bella from previous owners who worked a ton and would leave her for extremely long hours. She’s really loving all the attention her Fosters are giving her and we just want to make this little potato as happy as can be. Please share!! taken in New York, New York by @fosterlifenyc

Do you know Maverick is my 1st quadriplegic foster puppy?!

This is Maverick, my new foster puppy from @amaanimalrescue He has very limited mobility due to neurological issues, which means his body struggles to communicate with his limbs.

💧 Why water therapy?
The water supports his weight, reduces pressure, and allows his muscles and nerves to practice movement in a way that isn’t possible on land. Water therapy isn’t a cure but it’s a powerful rehab tool for dogs with mobility and neurological challenges. It allows safe movement, builds strength, and supports quality of life.

Is recovery guaranteed? NO😭
Are we trying everything to give him the best chance? ABSOLUTELY 🙏🏽🙌🏽

Foster parenting looks like appointments, equipment, emotional whiplash… and celebrating every tiny win. And today we won 🙌🏽🐾💕

The Crew that started it all — Raj, Rekha, Tommy, Blu, Khaleesi.
Four dogs and a cat who completely changed the trajectory of my life.

I wrote college papers about them.
I started a dog-walking and pet-sitting business because of them and it became a success.

And when they all passed, they’re the reason I started fostering senior medical dogs.

I didn’t grow up with money or luxury. But I was given something far bigger, the love of five pets who walked into my life when all I had was a roof over my head and the clothes on my back.

Petsitting one of our favorite OG brothers Houston & Oakley and senior foster baby Bear couldn’t be happier because that means snackies snackies snackies 🐾🐾🐾

Bear is about 14/15 years old rescued by @amaanimalrescue from @nycacc he has been with me for a year and is looking for a place to call his forever home! He loves others dogs and he also loves snacking

Snowy lost his battle today. I was trying to figure out a way to adopt him but he endured too much. His little body couldn’t take it any more. I’m so sorry, sweet boy. My heart is so broken. This rainbow appeared today and i didn’t know what it was saying. I hope you somehow knew how much I loved you. Wait with LuLu at the rainbow bridge and we can spend forever together.
