Block Party 101: know the zone before you roam.

On Summer Block Party event days, the Rice Howard Way Entertainment District is active from 7 AM to 10 PM. That means during permitted hours, drinks purchased from participating licensed businesses can be enjoyed outdoors within the district boundary.

A tiny but important plot point: business hours vary. Some spots open earlier, some open later, and not every business has the same weekend hours. Check with individual businesses before making your first stop.

Start somewhere delicious. Keep the good times in the lines.

Episode 5 of Meet Me Downtown 🍽️📍

We visited the Rice Howard Way Block Party this weekend organized by @foundry.events , and honestly, we’ve been dropping by all summer.

Between the food, drinks, activations and local music, there’s always something going on here! Plus, during the event hours, you can grab a drink from one of the participating spots and enjoy it right on the block.

Luckily, the party isn’t over yet.

The next Block Party is happening September 19 from 3–7 PM, followed by Life Sciences Week programming September 22 from 3:30–7:30 PM, with DJs and yard games like pickleball, PaddleSmash and cornhole.

So if you haven’t made it down to Rice Howard Way yet, there’s still plenty of time to join the party.
