My Roots run Deep 🪾

My story began long before the glory of this life.
It began in the womb of my mother’s mother’s mother’s mother.
The blood flowing through my veins has a powerful source.

Tracing my bloodline has been a beautiful gift
A gift because of the ease that has come with it.
Today I hold the stories of thousands of years before my time. Stories I have been gifted from my grandmothers, my aunts, and my uncles.
I’m blessed because I didn’t have to go looking through websites and catalogs to figure out where I come from. I am so grateful for those in my life who continue to hold the story of my legacy and pass it down to me.

I pray that one day I will become one of those who gets to pour life through our legacy into our lineage.
Because one day I will be an ancestor, I get to focus on my roots today.

As a child, I spent time being held by this tree. On this day, I returned there and allowed her to hold me once again. She has grown larger than I could imagine and I’m sure she would say the same about me. I’ve come to realize that the mother I have always known and will always get to enjoy is mother Earth. I take pleasure in being able to commune with her. I am grateful for my eternal mother. 🌍🌳

Big girl. Big tingz. Big life.

Story time:
My weekend started on Wednesday when I decided to go to a museum to broaden my experience of Chicago. That day led me to a wild adventure that ended with a new friend. She invited me to meet up with her again on Friday, which again was an eventful day. Our day began at that same museum we met at @driehausmuseum . Then I joined her for a random improv class. I couldn’t help but think about Michael Scott the entire time. But it was really a blast! Then we found our way to @connectgallery_ to see the artwork of @barrett.keithley - the exhibit was amazing and enriching to the mind and spirit. While there I made another new friend who happened to be in almost the same outfit lol. After that, we connected with a friend who invited us to an after party. It was such a beautiful place and the music was a great vibe!
I forgot to mention that at that museum the interior design is absolutely exquisite. Those are Tiffany lamps and the glass work is stunning. Also, the woodwork in the place is incredible. If you need some inspo on curating a home that feels like it’s been touched with love in every corner, you need to make your way there. AnyWho, I had a blast and this was just one day. Talk about living a RICH life! ✨

Why so many people choose to live life without color is so interesting to me. Blacks and neutrals everyday? It’s like people are copy and pasting the same person over and over again.
Why be a replica when I can be an original??
Color is living. My wardrobe is a reflection of the life within me. This is what it looks like to BE THE ART 🖼️
