POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Happy September! This month, our book of the month is called. What is Good Hair? and it is written by Thembekile Dube.

This book explores the cultural significance around Black hair and gives us the tools necessary to grow the gardens we wear atop our heads. It’s the perfect book to read while sipping some Cristelclare lemonade by the pool or on a boat.

Where The Ancestors Meet ✨🪼

This is a story of my lineage. A story I only came to know with age, but a story that has long lived within my bones. I always knew that I found peace near the water; I figured it was because of the energy it brings to me. And then my uncle told me a story of how my ancestors live in the water. When I approach the water, I call out to them and they respond to me in the waves that touched my feet.

This creation speaks to that story. My ancestor standing behind me some of their faces visible because I know them by name and other is a mystery to me yet they still exist. They passed through the water moving with the current. On the opposite side is the tree of life filled with fruits that are seeds to come into this world. As a new seed spawns from this tree of life, my ancestors watch over it and make sure that it arrives safely on the other side. This is a story of where my ancestors meet. A place I had a vision of as I saw my ancestors gathered around a fire, dressed in white sitting next to the river. Now it is here for you to be a witness to and enjoy.

Tell me what you see in the comments below.
