Source & Reflection by Lori Fox on display at Blackrock Castle from October 10th.
In this body of work Fox merges highly structured compositions with instinctive free form gestures, to examine the dualities of light and shadow, source and reflection, sun and moon. Her work investigates the limits of human perception and the eyes ability to interpret form within constraint fields of light, revealing how vision itself can become just an illusion.

I just dropped off 13 pieces from my 2017 body of work, “Source & Reflection”, at @blackrockcastleobservatory in Cork, Ireland. The work will be displayed inside the historic Round Tower this fall. More info to come! A few of these pieces have never been publicly displayed, which makes sharing them again very exciting.🤗

In the months to come I’ll be meeting with their researchers to explore ideas around black holes, exoplanets, quantum theories, and the mysteries of the universe.

While I absolutely love seeing artwork in a gallery setting, there is something incredibly inspiring about placing art in a space dedicated to science, discovery, and curiosity about the cosmos.

Art + science + the unknown = exactly where I want to be. ✨

This past weekend was magnificent with @suziecollier and her team with -Suzie Explores Montreal-. I gained so many new tools, new perspectives, and new, creative friends from around the world.

I’m not a musician, but that didn’t matter; I walked away with tangible ways to approach creative processes that apply far beyond music.

If you’re in a creative funk, moving through a life transition, or craving new tools to guide your expression, I highly recommend joining her next retreat. Come learn how to delight, how to play, and how to open yourself back up to possibility. ✨🤗✨

Suzie is such a treasure, excellent in her craft yet down to earth and able to share vulnerably. She took time to connect with each one of us and answered our questions for how to navigate the creative life. She sparked a fire in each one of us and I’m excited to share that fire with those I meet. 🫳🔥🫲

After @jacobcollier’s Hideaway retreat last week, I came back with a 🔥 to create. Just before I left, I sold a bunch of furniture and transformed my entire loft into a dedicated studio work space. I’m enjoying how simple it is to pop in, create, and step away when everything is set up the way it should be.
Reprioritizing was tough – giving up creature comforts is never easy – but I’m so glad I took the leap. 🙌
This past week, I finished a new letter project (“How to Survive Evolution”), and today I started working on some pant patterns ✨👖✨. Still not sure where this path is heading, but I’m setting my oars in the water and rowing. 🚣‍♂️🌊 Let’s see where this adventure leads… 🐋

I’m making my way home from one of the most epic and pivotal weeks of my life. ✨
I just spent a week with @jacobcollier, his incredible mentors and colleagues, and 250 wildly musical, magical, creative humans. I’ve never been in a space with so many teachers who are absolute masters of their craft—it was awe-inspiring.

Even though I’m not a musician, I went to learn about creating without limits, exploring with wonder, living expansively, pushing boundaries, and weaving play, joy, and freedom into everything, which Jacob and Suzie model so well.

Some key takeaways:
👉 The importance of connecting to the body through breath
👉 Wonder lives in the “I don’t know” — @gigiamazonia
👉 Strive for the goosebumps — @doddleoddle
👉 If an idea hasn’t solidified, put it in the “rock tumbler” — @christhile
👉 To get comfortable with risk, risk a little bit often. Prioritize risk— @jacobcollier

👉 nightly sessions with the brilliant genius @schmeinstein for rhythm, dance and song from Ghana and Cuba taught me so much about building layers. I loved his teaching style- direct, no fluff, cheeky dry British humor, and a heart to see each person succeed where they are at-no compromise. One can only wish to have such teachers in order to learn a craft- I’m calling in some fashion and painting teachers like Barak ✨👌😄👌✨

This is just scratching the surface but
Being a student with people from all over the world, ages 7–82, felt like a little slice of perfection. 💛💛💛
