Come #behindthescenes with us on the @usccinema MFA thesis ‘Nena’ (@nena_ashortfilm), shot by #cinematographer Elisabetta Fox Piantoni (@foxsdarkside). Written & directed by Joyzel Acevedo (@joyzel), the vulnerable, moving short film follows a young woman in Miami navigating the tensions between her roles as mother, daughter, and queer partner.

Elisabetta Fox Piantoni tells us, "When deciding on our lens kit for ‘Nena’, we instantly fell in love with the #Panavision Primo 70 lenses. Their distinct contrast across the entire frame and sharpness were a clear winner. To better visually portray the intimate story of this mother-daughter relationship, we decided to solely use the 40mm [focal length]. This allowed us to always maintain a familiar look and as close to reality as possible, without any sort of visual or too-artsy interference, also to be right there present with the characters at all times, even during the toughest moments."
