The award-winning play ‘Shirley Chisholm: Unbossed & Unbowed’ brings the remarkable story of Shirley Chisholm to the stage this Black History Month.

But who was the woman who, more than 50 years ago, became the first Black candidate for a major-party nomination for President of the United States, and the first woman to run for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination?

Ingrid Griffith’s play @unbossedunbowed explores Chisholm’s life, legacy and determination to challenge the political establishment, and asks us to consider how much has changed since 1972.

There are some moments that remind you why relationships matter.

At the 60th Notting Hill Carnival, I had the pleasure of meeting the amazing @ianwattstv @bafta and @griersontrust award-winning filmmaker and storyteller.
What I love most about Carnival is its power to bring people together. Beyond the music, colour and movement, it creates space for meaningful conversations, shared stories and powerful connections.
For me, that is the heart of the work I am building through @fpcomms creating bridges, amplifying brilliant people and brands, and connecting ambitious organisations with the communities and conversations that matter.

From grassroots beginnings to a global vision, I believe growth is built through trust, authenticity and the courage to build relationships that go beyond the moment.
Here’s to the people we meet, the stories we share and the possibilities that begin with a simple conversation.

When I walk into rooms, I like to ensure that I bring my most positive energy. However, at the recent @cocoagirlbrand Empowerment Business Summit, I witnessed something even more profound: the power of collective positivity.

During the pitching sessions, young people under 18 stepped up to pitch their businesses, share their ideas, and tell their stories to a room full of adults and peers. It takes immense courage to own your narrative at that age, and the inspiration in the room was palpable.

It was so moving that one woman, @roneish Myers, raised her hand and donated £100 to add to the existing £100 prize pot. Then, one by one, others began to raise their hands. In a matter of moments, that collective generosity raised over £700 for these young entrepreneurs.

That is the power of the moment. That is the power of collective organisation.

At FP Comms, this is the heart and soul of what we focus on. Sometimes I have no words, because all I really want to say is I told you so. The number of times people want to jump on the 'look at me' or the grief or the 'i support you without knowing the facts' online train without considering the real implications. Yes. You lose the opportunities. Sometimes you just should shut your mouth. by @fpcomms

Before they ever have to learn it the hard way.
As adults, many of us learnt how to protect our peace only after navigating the noise, the criticism, the comments and the trolls.

That is why I wrote SWIPE.

Now I have set myself a big goal: to place 1,000 copies of the SWIPE Workbook into schools and the hands of parents, giving young people practical tools to handle online harm, build resilience and protect their peace.
