yours truly is co-hosting a Disposable Film Camera challenge with @photosbyyulius, in collaboration with @ilfordimaging and @c.r.kennedyimaging next Saturday 10 October at 10:15am at @teds_cameras.

Absolutely no biggie. I’m totally not freaking out or anything. Totally normal. All good. I mean, I only started doing this whole photography thing six months ago. And I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that this is real life. 💗

There are a few tickets left, so you should totally come and join us for a couple of hours. We even provide the disposable camera and film development. 😌💅🏼

Tickets can be found here: https://events.humanitix.com/film-race-film-photography-competition by @framesey

I’m re-reading one of my favourites: Discipline and Punish by Michel Foucault. He talks about something that hits one of my greatest fears: the Panopticon.

Initially theorised by Jeremy Bentham in a series of letters to his brother in 1786, it speaks of an institution allowing constant surveillance of prisoners. Essentially, it is a circular building with cells arranged on the outer wall, and an inspection occupying the centre, allowing constant surveillance at all times. What’s interesting however, is that prisoners don’t know if they’re being watched, so they must assume they are. In turn, they modify their own behaviour to avoid punishment.

It’s an unironic allegory of today’s society with social media, technology, and of course, Meta glasses…

Anyway, here’s a rare, singular photo taken on my iPhone 16 Pro Max.
