Wrapped up an 8-week sign painting course with @smart_alex_signs @socalsignpaintingworkshops . I love letter forms and my understanding of them has mostly been through a graphic design lense. To learn from a sign painting lense has been expansive in more ways than I could have imagined. Learned SO much- my brain was overflowing after each class (in a good way lol). Alex is a well of knowledge and has a true gift for teaching this craft. Turns out hand drawing and painting letters is v hard. So much respect to all the sign painters out there🥲

After years of creating, experimenting, and deeply growing, I decided it’s time for a new chapter😌 I’m officially going freelance as a graphic designer and art director.

For the past 5 years I’ve been lucky to spend my days as design lead + Art Director at @primarydotcom , alongside some of the kindest and most talented people I know (who I’m gonna miss sm!) At the same time, I’ve been building @currentshapes and exploring other creative projects along the way.

As I step into this upcoming chapter, I’m excited to bring new ideas to life, build visual worlds, and collaborate with thoughtful people on meaningful projects.

I recently put together a new website with a selection of work from the past few years. If you have a project in mind, I’d love to connect. 💌

The first piece of the Visions In Meditations series.

As someone who experiences meditation very visually, I’ve been documenting the symbols and forms that emerge in those deep states of restful awareness. This piece draws inspiration from the Japanese noren- a textile traditionally hung in doorways and thresholds as a divider between spaces. A portal.

Created in the sacred land of Oaxaca, at the beautiful @t.e.x.e.r.e . Dyed with marigold and printed using a blend of local plants: Muicle, Palo de Brazil, Ruda, and a few others.

Thank you to @devenir.ombligo for generously sharing so much knowledge around local botanical pigments and for experimenting alongside me to help bring this idea to life. Y gracias al equipo de Texere por facilitar una residencia tan linda❤️ @aaaaaanacris @chuy_flormarchita

I started with the drawing on slides 3 and 4 and it expanded into the most fun exploration of shapes and compositions. I find that the process is sometimes way more fulfilling than the final result 🪡 by @franngonzalez

Started one of the most full filling projects last year and just wrapped up another round of this series for 2025. An experience bringing hospitality, color education, natural dyes, textiles, food and community all in one dream evening. Thank you to our incredible chef and sommelier collaborators. Thank you to the open minded and curious 🧡 And of course thank you to my bestie and creative partner Danica.
