You can never have too many pockets. These scrubs pants from @fableticsscrubs have been a lifesaver on the floors. I just try to stuff as many things on the go because you never know what's gonna happen when you see a patient, start rounds, or that one day when your attending asks you for your pen light but you forgot to change the battery on it 🫪. Lowkey I was surprised that my H&P notebook could fit 🧐🧐 I think next I'm going to try and see if I can fit in a matcha in here because man these 7am report times are taking your girl OUT 😫🥱😴

Playing dress up as a student doctor is kinda fun 🤓

Just finished my peds rotation and I'm sooooo sad 😭🤍. I had so much fun and learned so much. I was shaking my boots the first day my attending just threw in me but was definitely needed. Definitely overwhelmed with the first appointment and forgot to do the physical exam 😅 but we learned.

I got to teach the patients how to check their pulses, talk about what next hairstyle they were planning to get for the school year, give vaccines, and OOO I got to do OMT 🦴on one of the patients and talk more about being a DO student. Not every encounter was rainbows and sunshines, but it was good getting those experiences.

Idk I feel like I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be and I cannot wait to see what the rest of 3rd has to offer BUT ABEG PLEASE take it easy on me. I'm just one girl 😅 taken in Chicago, IL by @fransgallery

Honey, I'm home 📍Chicago

It's finally been over a month since I moved for my clinical rotations. I think your 20s are a perfect time to explore places outside of your hometown and see how truly independent you are 😅 but it doesn't hurt to get help along the way. I'm actually so excited to be a city girl during my 3rd year of medical school. Just please pray for me during the winter time. #chicago #medicalschool #citygirl taken in Chicago, IL by @fransgallery

In honor of officially starting 3rd year today, here is a "year in a life of my 2nd year of medical school." I think I dreaded 2nd year because I knew I needed to get it over with to finally reach the halfway point, to finally start clinical rotations, and pass one of the hardest exams. SO WE MADE IT 😅😮‍💨🩺 #medstudent #blackinmedicine

Me 🤝 a coffee shop to study. I had to gatekeep my top 2 favorite coffee shops while living in Arizona because I was in there like swimwear. I'm pretty sure me and @savannah_ndungu toured all the coffee shops in the county lol

I'm more of a hands-on learning and I think this was my favorite part of medical school.

My school has a dress code for business casual or scrubs. I most definitely took advantage of throwing on fits while on campus so here are some of my favorites outfits 👚👔👗

Studying this year felt like bootcamp. I can't even lie this year was definitely mentally challenging. From wiping out with the whiteboard with some friends to FaceTiming my best friend to keep each other accountable, WE HAD TO LOCK IN BY FIRE, BY FORCE 😮‍💨😮‍💨

Doing some Osteopathic Manipulative Techniques for a class assignment 🦴

Actually wait becoming a @fableticsscrubs ambassador was the biggest and shocking highlight of my 2nd year! What do you mean you will be sending me free scrubs?!?!? In undergrad, Fabletics was one of the companies I had on my "one day" list 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 now I get to look cute in these scrubs for clinicals and promote an affordable scrub company! #fableticspartner

I didn't get to do much volunteering this year as I would like but hopefully we can make it up this school year because I love doing stuff outside the classroom and we need diversity in healthcare

OSCE OSCE OSCE. lol I remember my first OSCE, I had a panic attack for the first time in my life. My soul was in my a$$. Medical school definitely unlocked some new characters in me 😅

Being in medical school is definitely a privilege because there are so many things I didn't even know. I definitely want to share as much as I can with my experience. Because how can your community get better if you are the only one benefiting from it? I fell off on making taken in Arizona, USA by @fransgallery
