Frederick’s journey began in South Bend, Indiana, before carrying him across the Atlantic to the European School of Ballet in Amsterdam following his success as a finalist at the Prix de Lausanne in 2023. In 2024, he joined the Bayerisches Staatsballett, and most recently marked a new milestone when he was awarded the company’s inaugural AURORA PRIZE for Emerging Artists! 🙌🏻

Today, we get to know Frederick beyond the stage as he shares a few personal reflections.

🕺𝐌𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩: Pirouettes

🥙 𝐌𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐥: I can’t say I have a favorite meal but I love sweet things

✨ Last night, after the performance of LE PARC, our ballet director Laurent Hilaire introduced the AURORA PRIZE — a new tradition honouring young dancers who have shown remarkable artistic and personal development over the past year. The award will now be presented annually, with recipients chosen by a committee of the company’s ballet masters together with Laurent Hilaire. ✨

We are especially happy to announce that this year’s AURORA PRIZE is awarded to Phoebe Schembri (@phoebe_schembri) and Frederick Stuckwisch (@fred_stuckwisch), whose work and progress have stood out throughout the season. 👏🏻

Warmest congratulations to both recipients on this well-deserved recognition. 🙌🏻

🧚On 31 March, LA SYLPHIDE by Pierre Lacotte will take the stage for the final time this season.

Experience a timeless tale of love and loss, brought to life in one of the most refined works of Romantic ballet, before the production temporarily leaves our repertoire.🥺🩰

🎟️ Better grab your tickets now — otherwise, you’ll have to explain to Timothée Chalamet why you weren’t there! 😉

I’m excited to announce that I’ll be going to @bayerischesstaatsballett as a corps de ballet dancer for the 24/25 season!

Thank you to @europeanschoolofballet for helping me to get this opportunity, and for supporting me along the way this year. I’m looking forward to another semester with all these amazing people. 🙏🏻

A special thank you to my teachers back home Calin Radulescu, and @fionacmartin for starting me on my dance journey and showing me the world of ballet! Your support and guidance has been a gift and blessing that I will forever be grateful for! 🤍
