thank you .. thank you for adopting a boy from Guatemala to give him a better life .. thank you for saving me.. i’m so sorry i wasn’t there for you these last 3 years; i don’t know if i’ll forgive myself for cutting you out of my adult life.. unfortunately i had my reasons.. but I FORGIVE YOU..

life wasn’t fair to you and for that i cry for you .. i’ll never forget how much you loved the story of me as a young boy refusing to get up on a horse , i can hear you laughing about it now .. i’ll never forget the memory of us watching ‘Spider-man 2’ in the living room of the house you built while you ate out of a tub of Turkey Hill Peanut Butter Swirl ice cream when the family was still together .. i’ll never forget your love for the Pittsburgh Steelers ; i can still picture in my head you cheering so loudly whenever they won the 2009 Super Bowl .. i can still hear your voice cheering me on the while i was out on the field or court .. life was good then ..

you made me the man that i am today .. you weren’t always there for me whenever i needed you and i forgive you .. i can’t let things go because of you so i don’t know how to let you go now that you are gone .. you gave me abandonment and trust issues .. this is so hard for me because i always thought of what could have been with you if life hadn’t thrown you down a dark path .. life is just so unfair and i’m so sorry that i couldn’t be the son that you needed from me..

but now that you’re gone , it hurts even more knowing that i’ll never get the opportunity to try to mend our relationship.. from here on out , you will ALWAYS be with me ..

this isn’t a goodbye, because i know i’ll see you again one day ; with our dogs Greta and Hanz next to you waiting for me ..

i love you so much dad and i should have told you that more , i’m so so sorry .. rest in paradise .. you are now at peace ..
