These are a few clips from a mockumentary I made a few years ago when I was suffering from anxiety. When I think of the film now — I think of it as a love letter to my home that I lost on January 7th. One year ago would be the last morning I slept in my own bed surrounded by my animals, husband and all the the things I loved. My closet was overflowing with the most beautiful clothes that I had been collecting for decades. I still owned my hippie wardrobe from the late 60s. My mother sewed my mirrored skirts and dresses from bedspreads I bought at head shops in Westwood Village. I had drawers filled with my dad’s harmonicas from when he performed in Vaudeville. My dad’s scrapbooks, my mom’s modeling portfolios. Many huge boxes of SX 70s filled with pictures of every friend I ever had. I will miss it forever.
My home, a small, quaint, vintage Spanish — was my personal canvas. Murals inside and out. A graffiti room. Every surface was open to become a new art piece.
The past year has felt like a mashup of a horror film and a nightmare. I know people live through worse. But this has been a mind fuck. Thank you to so many people for offering so much even when I wasn’t open to receive. I felt your love and am grateful.
I’m the opposite of Marie Kondo. Everything sparked joy. I was forced into parting with all of it.
I still want to die in my home but I guess it won’t be this exact one.
Thank you again for so much love. I’m not alone in this loss. Many of my closest friends also lost their homes. Most of us are still grieving. My dad would say, “NEXT!” taken in Pacific Palisades by @freddeduke

Exactly 6 months ago today, a fire swept through my city and took my charming home. I’ve been in mourning. It’s felt like a death. I cry for it daily. First thing I did when I moved into a house in Venice was build a Catio for my cats. There is a small grassy square area and I saw a small pool there. What could be a pool. Every pool builder we interviewed said two months for a permit and four to build. I called my friend Jody Briskin’s son, a contractor, Jake Jesson and he recommended Steve Platner. Steve said one month for the permit, two to build and he was hired on the spot. A few days ago, the pool was completed. Including the #mural In the fire, a painting, a self portrait done by Oliver at age 15 burned. So @ivotopia a very talented mural artist painted it on the bottom of my new pool. I hate change. I didn’t ask for this — but I’m creating an artistic space like the one I once had. Every day I try my hardest to will my house and old life back. For now, we are already starting to make memories in this oh-so-groovy #pool
Grateful to the husband and my kids and friends for all of their support and offers of #coats that I don’t want because I loved the ones that burned too much. I loved it all too much. But my husband, cats and dog are alive. And now I’ll be able to #swim again

Welcome to my old world in 2018. The set was my #vintage #spanish #home where a photo shoot can spontaneously happen at any given moment. The groovy #dress was bought with money I’d earned working at three different jobs. I was 18 years old when I purchased it at a store I loved that carried my small size, called “One.” The last photo is of me wearing it when I was 18 years old. I miss the #pacificpalisades and my home and my curated ——-everything ——- so much. My iPhone shared this memory with me today. I hate that I will never see or touch my things again. But sometimes I’m grateful for the cloud that saved pictures of my life before the #fire

Blank Canvas and a creative itch to scratch. So I bought #deco tiles on #etsy and hired this artisan Mario to place them the way I like. Voila. New/old #fireplace

Wall of Hope
I went to my house today for the first time to witness the devastation. I’ve had a month to process, see tons of videos/photos —- and prepare. I’m calling this my Wall of Hope. I had the wall surrounding my pool built 20 something years ago. I put in the Don Quixote Spanish Tile Mural. The whole wall is still standing. I’m identifying with Don Quixote right now and dreaming of seeing my house standing again.
Lessons Miguel de Cervantes Don Quixote taught us: A strong identity helps you differentiate yourself from the rest of the crowd, just like Don Quixote who romanticizes himself as a knight and pursues unrealistic goals that are beyond the imagination of others. A strong identity shields you from self-doubts and ridicule from outsiders.

RIP Marianne Faithful and RIP all these #coats that I loved and my #spanish #home
A month ago I was still living this life of safety, comfort and joy. Everything changed on January 7th when the #palisadesfire destroyed it all.
I’ve been in floods of tears since then —- mourning my sense of safety. I’m not alone. Some of my closest, lifelong #friends are going through this. It feels like nothing will ever be the same after the #fire
Looking forward to getting the joy back. We will rebuild and that gives me hope. This has been very hard. I was so emotionally attached to my house and everything in it. Thank you again to everyone reaching out and wanting to help. I am grateful for all of you. taken in Pacific Palisades by @freddeduke

Today, my grandson Elvis — with the most dynamic personality, turns 3. #happybirthday
Here in these photos he’s doing something he loves, making deals on my #vintage landline. It blows his mind that he can chat with his mom (in the same house) on the phone. He could be a future Louis B. Mayer or Robert Evans.
Another favorite activity is driving cars or playing with cars or watching Cars. If you hand him a gift and he opens the bag to only see a stuffed animal, he’ll toss it on the ground and keep searching the gift bag for the missing car.
He’s funny and more importantly he gets —- funny. I have a brilliantly funny cat and Elvis will often say, “Rupert’s funny!”

The residual checks ——— made me glad. I was told it would be a closed set and asked if I was comfortable being topless for the shoot. It was the 70s, we were topless all the time. My answer was yes. I get to the “closed set” and I’ve never seen more people on a set. The water was so powerful that it filled my bathing suit bottom with water and then fell off of me and now I’m fully naked in front of so many people. But I’m a pro so I keep going and they keep rolling. A few weeks later, the director called to ask me out. That had never happened. I told him I lived with my boyfriend and that was the end of that. I was also a #hippie chick with hairy armpits and legs but didn’t know how to shave so my best friend did it for me before #shoots like this.

Pandemic Coats : The Final Chapter
I thought (swore) I was done the making #coat #videos after my trilogy of coat videos. But — you know —— with too much TIME on my hands and too many bitchin coats in my #closet — I made one more. In honor of my #birthday

On September 18th, 10 years ago, I experienced one of the best nights of my life.
The seed for the idea to write this one-woman-show happened in a restaurant when I was with a few actress friends and I couldn’t get a word in. So I decided to tell them the most outrageous story of my sex life in the 70s. The laughter was so rewarding that when I got in my car to leave — I thought I’ll write a whole #play #show about it. And so I did with the plan to just do it one night and hire an actress to play me. I wouldn’t be able to memorize my lines and I have stage fright.
Boy did I get lucky when I hired Pam Levin to play me. She was so brilliant that everyone said it can’t be a one-night-bucket-list — #theshowmustgoon
Thank you to all of my friends that were in the #theater 10 years ago and all the #friends that saw it many times over the next 3 years.
I’m forever grateful and still amazed.
