The next session of Frederick Chats features a special guest from Baltimore: Ben Egerman — a librarian, researcher, historian, and author of “A Gay Little History of Maryland (Volume One).” 🏳️‍🌈

From trans horse thieves in 19th century Baltimore to Southern Maryland’s 1960s secret gay getaway, these lovingly researched stories span 150 years and take place all across the state.

The first book ever published on Maryland’s LGBTQ+ history, “A Gay Little History of Maryland” proves that our state’s story is far less straight and narrow than you think! 😉

Join us as Ben reads from this fabulous new book and joins us for a casual chat.

As always, we’ll provide the drinks and snacks — you bring the big ideas to share.

Our third session of @frederickchats is a timely one, as the primaries are only a few weeks away, so please join us as we explore our next chat theme: WHY BOARD OF EDUCATION ELECTIONS MATTER MORE THAN YOU REALIZE.

Still smiling while thinking about what a GREAT time we had last Wednesday evening, hosting the first session of @frederickchats at the new @wavelength.wear HQ!

We thought it would be fun if a few folks came by for a couple of hours to talk about sustainable development and smart growth, and we ended up having a dozen people hanging out for a wide ranging conversation over the course of more than four hours! (Thankfully there was plenty of cheese, wine, and Tenth Ward Distilling Company canned cocktails.😆)

Can’t wait for the next chat session *this Thursday* evening (May 21) when we’ll be talking about how to be an ally to queer folks in your life.
