💙 Freedom & Focus returns January 2028 💙

Some gatherings are worth planning for early. ✨ Freedom & Focus is a global convergence of teachers, artists, practitioners, and curious explorers, coming together for shared time around breath, body, voice, and intention. It’s a space for study, exchange, and fully being in the room together.

If you’re someone who commits early to the work that shapes your life and practice, this is your invitation to start planning now. 🔥

🗓️ Jan. 6–9, 2028
🌍 Cape Town, South Africa

We’re already preparing what’s next and holding space for the people who will be part of it. 🌀

Details will come. The intention starts here. 🌊

✨ What a journey into presence and possibility.

Freedom & Focus brought together a powerful group of artists, teachers, and practitioners — all showing up with breath, curiosity, and a willingness to explore what’s possible.

From quiet breakthroughs to bold discoveries, the room held it all. And as always, the practice met us where we were, and moved us somewhere new.

Huge thanks to everyone who participated, taught, tremored, listened, laughed, and leaned into the work. 🌀💙

We’re grateful for this growing community, and so glad we got to share the space with you.

The first of 3 workshop/panels I presented/taught at @freedomandfocus in a Wellington NZ.
.
We talked about the link between @fitzmauricevoicework and @ktspeechwork and how the pedagogy evolved. It was reassuring and wonderful to have
amazing teachers @michaelshipleygram and @masterton.simon who generously shared their knowledge and experience with us!
.
It’s always a little nerve wracking doing seminars and workshops in spaces you’ve never been before, and to audiences you’ve never met and knowing that teachers with waaay more experience and knowledge are also in the room with you can be unsettling.
.
In these moments, I always remember that we are all beginners at something and my PRESENCE and PREPARATION is something I can have control over so THAT’s where I place my focus. That I have a right to be here and my stories and experiences are worth listening to.
.
Hope that’s something you needed to hear today wherever you are on your public speaking journey!

So much to unpack! But here’s a sneak peek at the first @freedomandfocus in Aoterua Wellington NZ!
.
Also the first time my husband @sunglingun has come with me to ‘work’! He was officially on duty as our photographer but also his first time meeting and being with Trems!
.
All I can say is, breathing is indeed powerful! #breathingismeaning @fitzmauricevoicework taken in Rotorua, New Zealand by @freedomandfocus

The Freedom & Focus Conference, the international conference dedicated to Fitzmaurice Voicework, began with a Pōwhiri yesterday morning at Toi Whakaari - where it will run until 3 Aug.

A dynamic gathering of voice practitioners, performers, teachers, and artists from across the world came together in the poho of Te Whaea, and will spend the four-day conference exploring the relationship between breath, body, voice, and presence. by @freedomandfocus
