“Masquerade III”
I’m re-visioning
What red, black and white looks like
When masking a face.

“Olivia’s Teenage Becoming”
You are becoming
More of who you really are
And that’s the gift…YOU.
A haiku by freedom clay

When one of my “Litte Girl Trues” turns 13, we celebrate then and NOW and compose a haiku in her honor. What a wonderful privilege it continues to be watching “Livie Liv” BECOME more of who she’s destined to BE…Happy 13th Personal New Year, Beloved!

“Rosie’s Hats”
You can tell a lot
About who a LADY is
By the hats she wears.
A haiku by freedom clay

I had the distinguished privilege of curating a commemorative photography project celebrating the beautiful life and legacy of Ms. Rosa Bell Goddard Ash. Ms. Rosie completed her earthly assignment this past April at the age of 99. She would have celebrated her centennial birthday this past May. In honor of her 100th celestial birthday, I captured “some” of her hats in her extensive collection accompanied by some of my creations. Working on this project for one of my beloved friends was also paying homage to the memory of my beautiful grandmother, as well. So glad I was able to spend time with Ms. Rosie and experience her unique laugh and witty humor. Salute.

“Remembering an Unsung Crooner”
Underrated star
That shined brightly through his songs
He’s Freddie Jackson.
A haiku by freedom clay

Another soulful crooner from the soundtrack of my childhood has completed his earthly assignment. Your music resonated with so many of us and linked to cherished memories. Rest well, Mr. Jackson.
