A prayer for when the world feels heavy.
When worry is overwhelming.
When fear is knocking.

Let’s fill our home with rest, praise, and simple joys. Combat attack with the presence and the likeness of heaven. Disagree with chaos by enjoying the things Jesus paid for.

Rest in His presence. Say thank you by doing something restful and beautiful. A meal. A craft. A dance or song. A coffee date with a friend.

May our joy not be stolen. May the enemy of our soul work double time only to see the double portions of laughter we have at The Table. As we sit with Gods family and we remember His faithfulness in trial and grief. by @freedomwriterariel

Today the kindest man I’ve ever known went to be with Jesus.

Daddy,
I love you. I’ll miss you here.
You’re always Santa to me.
Thank you for all the gifts, and for letting me take up space. For not punishing my sense of humor, or making me be small. You taught me to live big and be silly. To enjoy and be enjoyed.
You enjoyed me and I enjoyed you.

For teaching me that the clothes off my back belong to those in need.
For letting me be your weird nerdy creative daughter. For never making my try to be something I wasn’t.
You delighted in me, and taught me to delight in how God made me without needing to prove anything to the world. Even when comparison would have been easy, you helped me like me.

For every hug and kiss and encouragement.
You were never an angry man.
I don’t have a single memory of you ever raising your voice at me even slightly.
You stayed kind when the world wasn’t.

You were safe.
You were gentle.
You were funny.

You fathered every orphan heart who ever knew you.
You spent your life pouring out oil on Jesus and love on His people.

I want to be like you.

You were one of my best friends my whole life, even in your weakness. You were my person. We laughed and we sang through hardship.
You held my hand and kissed my head.

You sent me care packages when I was far away. You called me and told me how powerful and treasured I am in the midst of every pain.

I’ll miss you more than I’ve ever missed anything.

Have fun ripping it on that guitar for Jesus.
You were always His favorite, everyone who knew you knew that.
You’re making heaven laugh today.

My dad painted me a hat.

Spent the last week with the Flu and drank a lot of tea and water.
Finally put clothes on and feel alive today.

My niece turned one without me, but that’s okay cause I got her cute snow booties.

Im glad we’ve both had, and ended, our time together 2023.
You were a temporary gift.

Thanks for the friendships, cool opportunities, yummy snacks, and cozy apartment.
