One of our panels on the upcoming Prof Saibaba memorial day will feature members of the campaigns for the release of Umer Khalid @freeumerkhalid and Vishal Singh, and moderated by legal expert Dr. Kiruba Munusamy @kirubamunusamy , this discussion looks at Political Prisoners with a focus on how healthcare is denied to them. It examines the cases of Umer Khalid, a Palestine direct action activist imprisoned in the UK, and filmmaker Vishal Singh, held in the Lucknow conspiracy case along others. It also draws parallels with the institutional murders of late Prof. Saibaba and Father Stan Swamy.

One thing about @freeumerkhalid is his immense love for the Qur’an not just by his words but by how he would always make sure he read surah Kahf on Friday.

So this is your Friday jumuah reminder to read or listen to surah Kahf. Make dua for all of the oppressed and the political prisoners from Palestine to Guantanamo.

Ps. This was from a while ago as can tell by the camera quality but since then Umer has read and memorised a lot of the Quran mashaAllah by @freeumerkhalid
