The arguments are getting intense 🚨 with a purpose! ⚖️🎤

Every Tuesday after school, Debate Club at Freire Wilmington gives students a chance to make their case, challenge ideas, and hear different perspectives.

This week, students turned a fictional case into a mock trial: After a fight, a student recorded the incident and the video was posted on social media without the student who was hurt giving permission. Our debaters stepped into the roles of judge, youth panel, school advocates, respondent, and respondent advocates to examine what happened and argue their positions.

Big questions. Strong arguments. Real listening. That’s Debate Club! 🗣️ Find Mr. Jay in room 310 to learn more about how to participate!

Our Freire Dragons are showing up, showing OUT, and breathing fire! 🐉🔥

Our attendance party celebrated students who’ve missed no more than one day of school since September 1st! Freire alum @djque302 even pulled up with an exclusive DJ set to show love to our student community and keep the energy high! 🎧

We had a glow party, made candy apples and sweet treats, and opened the gym for some community joy 🥳

Keep showing up, Dragons!
