If you’re unfamiliar with Goffle Road Poultry Farm, they are based right here in New Jersey, and their birds are hands-down some of the tastiest we’ve ever had. We’re offering both their fresh whole turkeys and turkey breasts this year.

Now, in addition to fully customizable farm boxes, customers can now shop a la carte each week from our favorite local farms and makers. We are excited to announce that Meredith Lehman and her team at Just Farmed will be officially joining Zone 7 starting January 1.
Our vision is to run the Just Farmed farm box program for the first couple of months and then we have some changes that we think you’ll enjoy!

Is it meatballs and sauce weather or is it just us? 🍝 Elevate this simple recipe with all-local ingredients on the Zone 7 Online Marketplace!

@phillipsfarmsofnewjersey San Marzano Tomatoes
@limafamilyfarms ground beef and pork
@bluemoonacres Parsley
@fiveacrefarms Milk
Local Garlic and Eggs
Served over @lorepasta ! 🤌👇

Serves 3–4 | Prep: 10 mins | Cook: 20 mins
INGREDIENTS
• 1 lb (450g) Lima Family Farms ground meat (80/20 beef OR 50/50 beef & pork mix)
• 1/3 cup breadcrumbs (Panko or Italian seasoned)
• 1/4 cup Five Acre Farms milk
• 1 large local egg
• 1/4 cup grated parmesan
• 2 Eagle Road garlic cloves, minced
• 1 tsp dried oregano (or Italian seasoning)
• 1 tsp kosher salt + 1/2 tsp black pepper
• 2 tbsp fresh Blue Moon Acres parsley, chopped (optional)
• 2 cups First Field tomato sauce (for simmering) and add in some Phillips Farm San Marzano Tomatoes
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Soak: Mix breadcrumbs and milk in a large bowl. Let sit for 5 mins to soak (this keeps them super juicy!).
2. Mix: Whisk in the egg, parmesan, garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, and parsley. Add ground meat and gently mix with hands until just combined.
3. Shape: Roll into 12–16 golf-ball-sized meatballs.
4. Sear: Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear meatballs on all sides until browned (~5 mins).
5. Simmer: Pour in tomato sauce, cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 15 mins until cooked through (165°F).

You can also double this recipe.
Serve over pasta, garlic bread, or enjoy straight out of the skillet! by @freshfromzone7

Zone 7 is hiring! This is a unique opportunity to learn and see many sides of the business and the food system! The Purchasing and Operations Assistant will be involved in many operational aspects of Zone 7. First and foremost, they will be a key liaison between Zone 7 and our farms and vendors, analyzing sales data to place purchase orders, helping with the availability list, processing vendor invoices, and assisting with delivery routing. They will also be hands-on receiving products, checking quality, picking orders and making deliveries. The Purchasing and Operations Assistant reports to the Assistant Operations and Purchasing Manager and helps the supply team build connections with our farms and is a key player in making the local food community thrive. This is a full-time, hourly position, averaging 40 hours per week with some overtime hours availability during the busy, growing season. The food is fun, innovative, comforting, artistic, and DELICIOUS! They truly honor every ingredient—from seasonal produce and perfectly aged meats to handcrafted pasta, drinks and stunning desserts (try the budino!).

We’ve known Nick and Vincent for a long time and are so grateful for our continued partnership. Whether you’re walking over (like Meredith and Lindsey on our team) or driving an hour (like Beth, Mikey, and Chris), it is always worth the trip!
