I’m thrilled to be spending a few days this week in residency at @studio9porches in North Adams, MA alongside @samtorresnoise ! Sam and I will be spending our time there getting to know the @meyersoundlabs Spacemap spatial sound technology and will design an immersive show specifically for this system. Piano, everywhere! Sam and I have been collaborating for years now in developing my live sound. He is 100% the secret sauce. Sam mixes all my shows: he’s constantly tweaking things and making creative decisions about how we convey my music to audiences. He’s very much responsible for the feel of my live performances. This residency will highlight his incredible artistry as an engineer! If you’re in the area, we hope you’ll join us for this one-of-a-kind performance on Saturday, Oct. 17 ✨ taken in North Adams, Massachusetts by @freshgrassfoundation

A lot can change in two years. What was framing and subfloor in 2024 is now ten guest rooms, three artist studios, and shared spaces built for collaboration at the FreshGrass Annex. by @freshgrassfoundation

Exciting - and daunting - and exciting news! A longtime listener and supporter has set us up to end this year's Fall Anniversary Fund Drive in a celebration if we can all come together over the next week. [[🔗💸in bio]] Through your incredible generosity so far, we have raised $35,000 of our $65,000 goal! Quick math reveals that we need to raise $30,000 by the end of the drive -- 11 p.m. ET on 10/9 - to make that goal. In comes our donor with a $5,000 challenge -- which means your gift goes 20% further right now! For every $5 you pledge, you'll bring in $1 from the challenge. Please become a member or make an additional gift to help bring in as much of the challenge as we can -- together! by @freshgrassfoundation

"Waylon Payne stood on the modest stage at East Nashville honky-tonk Skinny Dennis, backed by a four-piece band. Dressed in a rhinestone-dotted Western shirt and worn-in jeans, the Nashville-based singer-songwriter explained that the next song he was set to perform was born of a self-conscious effort to be more well-read. 'I walked into Half Price Books and bought Moby Dick, The Great Gatsby, and a book by Ralph Waldo Emerson,' he said, cradling his acoustic guitar like a newborn. 'Then I did the classic songwriter thing where I opened it up to a random page and pointed.'" The culminating event of this spatial audio residency of Erik Hall is a concert on Thursday night at 7 PM. it’s been a blast working with Erik and Garth and Steve Ellison of Meyer Sound Labs to bring Erik's vision and record to life in three dimensions. These are singular events not to be missed. Meyer Audio systems are the best in class, and this realization of Steve Reich’s music can only be heard in this particular way in Studio 9 or another venue with an equivalent audio system like the great @nationalsawdust in Brooklyn or SUNY Buffalo. Those two venues, in fact, is where this concert and the work we’ve done this week will travel next. Come enjoy the music with us on Thursday night at 7 PM at Studio 9. There’s an easy link in my bio for tickets. Hope to see you there! taken in Studio 9 by @freshgrassfoundation
