‘The Earth Sings In Me ‘🌱

Let the Minerals flow. Creating this vessel was a journey to my core, moulded in moments of peace, with no formula. It reflects the essence of who we are when no one’s watching. Cosmic energy! ⚡️ *SOLD*

Stretching is a process…

Witness how the clay responds to my touch, it knows my limits. Sometimes we just want to push through, even if it leaves you scarred.

The next episode of #GradualProcess is now live

Meet London-based ceramist Freya Bramble Carter in our portrait series following alumni as they build their creative careers.

Having worked with clay since childhood, Freya learned the craft under the guidance of her father, ceramic artist and teacher Chris Bramble, firing pots in his studio from a young age. Today, the pair share a studio at Kingsgate Workshops in London.

After studying Fine Art at Chelsea College of Arts (@chelseaual), Freya has embraced the process of ‘unlearning’ the rules, creating pieces that honour her physical connection to clay and bring soul, energy and a sense of presence into the home.

This is a highly enchanted vessel for me! Many overlapping layers of nature softly bursting through. ✨This work is called Lilies and fairies. You can now visit her at her new home, the new pub @thewollstonecraft June in Stoke Newington, London! Nick Bailey, the pub owner has also commissioned unique work from many fabulous artists, the place is litt! A tribute to the female powers of Miss Wollstonecraft. It will be a sight to see and an amazing spot to hang out.

Thankyou so much for helping me process the work with your amazing photography @siobhansa95 you are so amazing to work with! Thankyou

New exhibition ! 🦄🛸🎨 🏺
A gallery in central London @casildart_contemporary has an annual show called EmpowerHer has come round again and I’m so proud to be part of it. It is a fantastic celebration of empowerment. Women artists have shown ways in which they see magic within themselves. Art is such a great way to embrace special feelings and show things that words cannot explain.

I have 3 supernatural vessels that are sitting among the inspiring work and I can’t wait to see them in the space and see all the other work. Here is my hero piece called Unicorn.

Unicorn:

Is an ode to folklore and those that see other realities that most would consider myth. In that case I think we are living myths!

🦄 🌈

I used stoneware clay, thrown on the wheel and altered, sculpted and assembled. Lidded jar. Functional sculpture

A much needed get away to reset my frazzled nervous system. We found lots of idyllic swimming spots everyday and to get to them was a hike and a half! Most of the time there was NO body around which blows my mind coming from claustro London! My foodie partner and I enjoyed a night of a delicious tasting menu too! 🧚🥾🏊‍♂️🌾🐏😋 taken in Lake District by @freyabramblecarter

It’s been awesome reuniting with inspiring couple Nina & James! ❤️❤️
We met them on our Panama retreat! Thankyou for visiting! Nina is a fabulous potter from San Francisco. She gave me a mug and it’s the only one I use now. She also showed us how she does it, demoing her handles and decor techniques in the pottery studio! 👏
Whilst James explored the island, finding things through his binoculars, and photoshoots!
