Since the beginning of September, we have been thrilled to welcome our inaugural artist-in-residence, Rose Freymuth-Frazier. Her current series, a vibrant exploration of her roots in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Northern California, intertwines Western Americana with biblical imagery and Greek mythology. In her larger-than-life figurative oil paintings, she presents daring and unapologetic female muses, challenging traditional narratives and inviting viewers into a world rich with dynamic potential.
Stay tuned for more from Rose Freymuth-Frazier and our other artists-in-residence.

How many years have I climbed these holy steps, a portal to inspiration, to visit these lifelong friends and gaze upon the master himself. Yesterday, I returned to see what wisdom he may offer at this time. I looked deep into his 54 year old eyes, his puffy face, painted 366 years ago, which appeared more haunted to me than in past visits which started in my early 20’s. I asked a question and waited. His unsympathetic answer…”What did you expect?” Rembrandt always told the truth. 😉 by @freymuthfrazier

Came across this picture from when I was painting in California last year. This used to be my mama’s ceramic studio where she taught and sculpted for about 30 years. ❤️ by @freymuthfrazier

I’m giving my website some much needed attention and adding a page of installation and exhibition photos to shows all the exciting places paintings end up, which really is, after all one of the points of this whole thing. Seeing them live on beyond the studio. Anyway, here’s a shot of me with “Sarah At Bat” which is in the esteemed Seven Bridges Foundation in Greenwich, Connecticut. by @freymuthfrazier
