I saw ART VITAL: 12 Years of Ulay / Marina Abramović in Aranya, and later met Marina Abramović at her apartment in the West Village. This project also gave me the chance to finally collaborate with @shulives , who I’d been hoping to work with for a long time.

I’ve never been to the Great Wall, but somehow I’ve made it to New York. These days, I find myself a little afraid of talking about love, especially romantic love. So when I started working on this story, it wasn’t butterflies. It felt more like bees buzzing somewhere inside me. But listening to Marina speak about love, relationships, and what remains after all these years still moved me deeply.

And at this moment, I’m simply grateful to be here.

What fascinated me most were their exoskeletons, motorcycle armour, IKEA lamp parts, discarded fabrics and old heavy-metal T-shirts, all repurposed into new bodies.

Feeling incredibly grateful to have creatively produced two NOWNESS short films selected by the Locarno Film Festival in consecutive years.

This year, The Wind, One Brilliant Day, directed by Ben Rivers and starring Tang Wei, premieres in the Pardi di Domani – Concorso Corti d‘Autore.

Last year, A Very Straight Neck, directed by Neo Sora and starring Sakura Ando, won Best Short Film in the same competition.

I first fell in love with Zhao Tao as the martial heroine in A Touch of Sin. This time, in the romance of Venice, I finally had the chance to experience her beauty up close—elegant yet unyielding, like a still frame from a film.

At Lido’s Giovanni Nicelli Airport, we captured Zhao Tao in her very own意满离moment. 🛫 The breeze, the sunlight, and the hum of airplanes, together with her calm, composed presence, became part of an unforgettable autumn memory in Venice.

As the only East Asian member of the jury at the 82nd #VeniceInternationalFilmFestival, Zhao Tao presented the Best Actress award to Xin Zhilei. That moment was beautiful, unforgettable, and gave this journey an even deeper sense of meaning and brilliance 🌟
