If you were following the pre-production of @lastdaysofkoreshan , you’ll know that waiting for Victoria was not only a plot device, but also a real life situation when it came to finding the right person to play the Empirial Goddess. Just about two weeks out from shooting came @anamariecalise , an incredibly talented actress. Her audition truly blew me away, and I am so glad to have finally found my dear Victoria.

Yes the WIP screening happened, but the shout outs for @lastdaysofkoreshan wonderful cast & crew continues! Today we’re honoring the dudes behind the lights. @kfuerte (Gaffer), @yung.jesticdp (Grip & Electric) and @vicegripchris (Grip & Electric). They were out in the sun, rain, and wind making sure our lights were safety secure and beautiful lighting/shaping our subjects.

Funny that most of these are vertical, but it speaks to the heights this team has to go! Also shout out to @mighty_grip_and_lighting the gear rental~

A cult is nothing without their ancillary members. Seeing this gang’s chemistry on set was something so instant. None of them knew eachother before this project, but it there were moments of such familiarity between them all, both on and off camera. @iamninaherzog (Vesta), @milasumrall (Christine), @carlacarlacarlacarla__ (Ana), @outdoor_kid_ananias (Ash), and @amandakorland all supported the community while we grieved the transition of our dear Master Koresh.

What you will see on Friday is the visual amalgamation of a lot of hands and work, but the most
literal manifestation of the Camera Department’s work. This department has to always be on,
whether it was prepping for the next shot or capturing little moments on set (like many of these
pictures I’ve been posting). Most crews have a much larger team, but these guys killed as the
small, yet mighty team. Give it up for @thetabathamudra (Cinematographer), @nicole.asa (1st

Less than two weeks until the Work in Progress screening & event! Get your laces, linens, sparkle and stars out of your closet. Were celebrating the celestial shift toward the great autumnal equinox.

This interactive event will give viewers an insight into the filmmaking / research behind the story, see the location where it was primarily shot (@samplemcdougaldhouse )and provide feedback that can be incorporated into the final cut.

Science and Faith were two ideas that Koresh (Cyrus Teed) sought to join in his movement.
Although in his death, we see the struggle that it actually was. While there were many doctors
(of eclectic medicine) within the Koreshan Unity, this County Doctor, played by Robert D. Nation (@behindthescenestheatricalsllc),
is an outsider to both the community and the faith, challenging everything that Master Koresh had prophesied.

One of the biggest aspects of a period piece, even filmmaking in general, is the art department.
How can you transport viewers to the time and place where your story exists, when it is so visually specific? This is where my fabulous art department comes in. So many hands were involved in building the story setting we needed, from costumes, to props, to SFX builds.
