Honoring Our Edgehill Heroes at WE Fest 2026! One of the most meaningful moments of this year’s WE Fest was our Tree Medallion Dedication Ceremony, where we celebrated four remarkable individuals whose contributions have helped shape the history and heart of Edgehill. 🏅 King Hollands – Civil Rights Leader & Community Advocate 🏅 Mary Pruitt – Educator & State Legislator 🏅 Juanita Stewart-Beauregard – Community Leader & Youth Mentor 🏅 Carlos DeFord Bailey – Musician & Cultural Legacy-Keeper The ceremony featured an original poem delivered by poet Henry Jones, with medallions accepted by Eye Am Infinity (Juanita), Herchel Bailey (Carlos), and Register of Deeds Karen Y. Johnson on behalf of Mary Pruitt and King Hollands. The medallions will be affixed to trees in our Edgehill Heroes Arboretum, joining the many others previously honored and ensuring that their stories, contributions, and legacies continue to be recognized for generations to come. ❤️ 📸 Photo Credit: Ramona & John Wiggins #WEFestNashville2026 #EdgehillHeroes #NashvilleHistory #EdgehillNashville #WilliamEdmondson by @friendsofwilliamedmondson
For William Edmondson, creating art was more than a passion; it was a divine calling. His belief that his artistic gifts were guided by a higher purpose continues to inspire generations of artists to reflect on what compels them to create. The Friends of William Edmondson were proud to organize CALLED: “What Compels You to Create?”, a group fine art exhibition held at NKA Gallery as part of WE Fest 2026. The evening brought together artists, art lovers, and community members to explore the many ways that purpose, faith, identity, and personal experiences inspire artistic expression. A special thank you to E. Roosevelt Brown for curating such a thoughtful exhibition and bringing together an incredible group of talented artists. Your vision and dedication helped make this event a meaningful tribute to the creative spirit that defined William Edmondson’s life and work. We also want to thank every participating artist, @the_nka_gallery, and everyone who joined us for the opening reception. Your support helps us continue honoring Edmondson’s legacy while creating opportunities for today’s artists to share their gifts and stories. Take a look back at some of the moments from this special evening! #WEFestNashville2026 #BlackArt #NashvilleArtists #FriendsOfWilliamEdmondson by @friendsofwilliamedmondson
Creativity, joy, and a whole lot of fun! The Kids Zone at WE Fest 2026 was all about inspiring the next generation through art, hands-on activities, and simply having a good time! We love seeing creativity passed down from one generation to the next, and these moments are what WE Fest is all about. 📸 Photography by Ramona Whitworth Wiggins and John Wiggins #WEFestNashville2026 #NashvilleArts #WilliamEdmondson #CommunityCreativity by @friendsofwilliamedmondson
