Athleticism built by walkies 😌

Dogs just get better with age, and being able to still do fun things with her into her senior years is so exciting. I am happy to retire her whenever she is ready, but every day she wakes up wanting to work and physically capable of it. A little schutzhund as a treat won’t hurt anything. 🥹 by @friggnfreya

I think we should just start giving Vs in exercises if the dog looks cute doing it. That feels right and just to me. I will continue rewarding as if that’s the case thank you. 🙂‍↕️ by @friggnfreya

Getting a photo from THE Brian Aghajani has always been a dream of mine, and no failure is gonna stop me from enjoying these obedience pics. 🙂‍↕️😌😂

If you’re also friends with me on facebook, I’m gonna preemptively apologize for how many times you’ll see these pictures. 🥰 by @friggnfreya

77-86-term AWDF Nationals

I know I said I was done, but a nagging thought came into my head at regionals that with a few more reps, Der could do better. I truly only wanted to do a club trial, but the one I planned for was delayed and then cancelled. I looked at some other club trials, but ultimately decided to give a national event a shot, just to see what it was like. I certainly did learn a lot!

Tracking was intense. Downpour rains and harsh wind, flooded field, and a literal mile walk to the track. But even with a walked article (“carpet doesn’t exist” -Der), she made it to the end with a passing score. Tracking is where I personally struggle the most, and Der has not had the best training. She tried her very best, and I was very proud of her.

Obedience is her best phase because it’s the only one I truly love. It is what keeps me in this sport. The routine wasn’t perfect, clearly, but it felt nice. I left the field remembering why I can’t seem to get away from schutzhund.

Protection… bless her. She ran her blinds beautifully, but came around 6 and saw the judge first, and after she realized he wasn’t the helper, she swapped back into obedience mindset and did not actually search at all. I cannot say I’m not bummed; I love where she’s at in protection and I was excited to see her improvements. But at the end of the day, there was no injuries, and it was a simple error from just lack of seeing that picture. She’s a very good girl who I’m still very proud of!

So overall, it was definitely an experience! Der had an absolute blast. It was a bit too cold and miserable for me to say I had a blast, but I survived, and the more I show, the more I want to show again.

I have the most amazing friends that support me, and I’m disappointed that I let them down, but hopefully they already know me and Der share one brain cell so they’re used to this already. 🫶

(edited because I was driving and wrote 89 instead of 86 for her ob score. maybe I was giving her the cute points lolll) by @friggnfreya
