@friscopowderaddict and I went out Sunday for a fun one! Biting cold in the morning, ice on the north facing slopes all the way to an amazing sunset!

A challenging snowpack couldn’t get between the 3 of us and an excellent September tour. Congrats @friscopowderaddict (Gary) on 16 years of consecutive monthly skiing and the same to @k_snow_bakes (Kurt) as he moves deeper into year 15. Some days leave you with smiles that never dim. Peak Y 12,962' - I recently finished up the alphabet peaks in the Gore Range with Peak Y. I set out from the Pitkin Creek trailhead with @k_snow_bakes on what turned out to be a great day in the mountains. We went over Usable Pass to our first objective of the day, Peak X Prime 12,700'. From there, we headed over to our only ranked summit of the day, Peak X 13,094'. And then over to my main objective, Peak Y. We had a full day of scrambling and route finding on some beautiful ridgelines. August 1, 2026. Colorado's 150th birthday. What a great day for a ski with @brianvwiens . While the amount of snow on this line is the least that I have seen in the past 16 years, the snow quality was surprisingly good. As always, we were both stoked to be out skiing on such a beautiful summer day. On this day, Brian completed 31 years of skiing every month, while I will hit 16 years next month. Our passion and love for the sport will keep us going as long as possible. Emerald Lake and Emerald Basin. We planned a hike up Burgess Pass, but the trail was closed due to a lightning strike and small wildfire the night before. Plan B was to go up Yoho pass, but all of the river crossings were washed out. Plan C was to follow the creek as far as we could, but it was too dangerous. Plan D, we found the Emerald Basin trail. It turned out to be a nice trail to a beautiful basin filled with peaks, glaciers, and so many waterfalls. taken in Yoho National Park by @friscopowderaddict
