Val is one!! Happy birthday Valley Girl.

Watching her learn and grow has been the absolute best but wowwww time is slipping through our fingers, that was the fastest year of my life.

The minute Val was placed on my chest, just moments old, she lifted her head to get a good look around and just some general good exercise I think. That has pretty much set the pace for this last year. She crunched and strained until she could roll, immediately set about to learning how to get around and was crawling by 5 months, walking at 8 months, and earning her nickname Valzilla by finding glee in destruction of property. At our house cupboards and drawers are locked, doors are closed, and things are placed in the very center of tables unless you are asking for trouble. She’s never had much time for cuddles but is starting to come back around to some snugs.

She is so happy and truly we think she is hilarious. I’ve never seen a baby so ready to give everyone she encounters a big cheesy grin. She loves to bring me something, hold it out, and then snatch it back and run away laughing. She acts like she is going to bite Blake’s toes to get a reaction out of him. A big laugh will have her snorting like mad and her and Jones love to laugh at each other. She’s so fun.
She’s so smart and so cute and so sweet and so funny and such a light in our home.
She is as determined as they come. This girl is going places. Maybe jail, but definitely places and she’s gonna have a good time doing it.
We adore her and can’t imagine life without her. Happy birthday Boo Boo by @frishy9

Got Jones’ preschool picture back and it’s got me allll in my feelings about this little boy. He is the sweetest, most affectionate, silliest, smartest, most neurotic 😅, cutest kid. He loves Pokémon, his cousins and family, soccer, monster trucks, coloring, spelling, JoJo, popsicles, snuggles, and Mariocart. He hates haircuts, taking off and putting on hoodies, trimming his nails, and salad. This last year he became a big brother and loves his sister and tells her how cute she is daily. He’s so friendly and can gab with the best. Frequently strikes up conversations with any stranger who he can get to look his way. We just adore him. You’re a good kid Kurt Jones. by @frishy9

The transition from 2 to 3 took my baby to a little boy. It hurts to look at all the evidence of how much Jones has grown and changed this last year but it’s the best hurt there is. We are so proud of him, as he often likes to remind me when he gives me a big hug and says “Mom! Are you soooo proud of me?!” He loves his family, monster trucks and hot wheels, soccer, snuggles, and causing a general ruckus. Time can slow down now. by @frishy9

My Jones boy is two. TWO. Two years of getting to know the coolest, funniest, sweetest, busiest kid to ever exist. Carting him all over Europe in his second year of life was awesome.
Being a mom and being his mom is my favorite thing about my life. I truly know what it’s like to have my heart beat outside of my body. It’s profoundly terrifying but watching KJ learn and grow and be happy fills me. I love him so much it hurts and I can’t wait to see what this little guy wants to do, because he’s determined and smart, and he’ll do it.
His favorite things to say are:
Hi buddy!!
Ampa and Ama (grandpa and grandma)
Cars??? (Requesting the movie)
Motorcycle!
Colors, especially of passing cars. Extra loud if it is red.
YOGURT
Ricky! (His favorite stuffed animal)
Cunnle (a request to cuddle, my personal favorite)
Oh cooooooool!

His favorite things to do are:
Run. Down hills and hallways and into water and towards aunts and uncles and grandparents
Play with cars, motorcycles, airplanes, or anything with a motor that goes, “VROOM”
Swim and jump into pools
Give Jojo kisses
Watch Cars (the movie)
Kick soccer balls
Read books and cuddle
