My TEGGUN ASHLEIGH dress!!

Australian fabric designer @teggunashleigh sent me her ‘Midnight Blooms’ fabric collection (+ some gorgeous hand painted buttons) and I had the MOST FUN patchworking all 22 fabrics into this chevron patterned, whimsical party dress.

My favourite aspect of the dress ended up being the horsehair braid added in the hem, which allows the hem to have buoyancy, lift & movement!!!

THE FAIRY WEDDING DRESS

Nine gathered tiers patchworked using secondhand and scrap fabric. Secondhand trims & laces sewn throughout. Leftover tulle used for different coloured ruffles. Countless hours hand sewing beads & sequins around this piece so that when you look closely, it’s a treasure that keeps delighting. Bows & ribbons hand stitched & cascading from the sleeves.

My Hannah V Neck Sweater is complete! It’s been a joy to knit (minus the slight left wrist pain that revealed itself mid ribbing!)

Knit pattern as written with no mods. Held a strand of purple Indiecita Baby Suri Silk Mohair with a strand of Primrose Rarn Co Homestead Sport 2ply hand dyed Merino.

So expensive man, I need to chill with my yarn selections. But no regrets either hahahah. I literally bought the yarn in two seperate transactions to split up the financial strain. 💸

Was super stressed about the fit being too small & me not being smart enough to learn how to knit the collar. I had to restart the collar a few times but I understand it now and it’s not as scary as I thought. I’m thrilled with the fit post block, it was just so scary to trust the pattern.

Also nerve wracking to deviate from the recommended yarn & just freestyle it but my swatch came out good so I just DID IT !! Follow the fun.

I intended to make a fully purple sweater but I couldn’t decide on one colour so instead I bought 7 different yarns.
I think the purple mohair was successful in marrying all the colours together. I alternated the 7 skeins randomly as my heart desired. Turns out I quite like weaving in ends! Satisfying.

It took me almost exactly 2 month of knitting mostly everyday to make. It felt like I was flying. I love knitting. Hopefully my wrists become strong & unshakable so I can knit more & more!

Don’t usually wear V necks but this one has an incredible vibe to it & I just couldn’t resist that striking collar!!!

Sharing my Avenue Shorts! (Pattern by @hisydgraham )

Made in Nylon Taffeta, with the intention of wearing them as gym shorts. They’ve worked really well for all my exercising needs since I made them a few weeks back.

Made in a Size 6.

Orange and Purple pair have a 3/4” lower rise, split hem option, bound buttonholes at front and side for a tie (this technique I learned from images of the Madrone pants by @sewliberated ) and I hacked the pattern to do some colour blocking, placing the stripes on the front and back seams instead of the side seams. Ended up swapping the para cord for a nylon ribbon as it holds better.

Green and purple pair have no mods except slightly wider binding. Did the pockets but will need to topstitch them down so they stop flopping out when I sit down.

A few months ago @evan.ihde so generously designed & crafted this custom patchworked & quilted coat for me as a gift.

I still can’t believe it! Photos don’t do it justice. The craftsmanship & thoughtfulness in every detail is something beautiful to experience.

Everyone RUN don’t walk!!

Fabric: Heavy Cotton Drill in Cerulean Blue by @maaidesign
Pattern: Bobbie Overalls by @the.ordinaryfolk

Sized up 1 size for a more roomy fit. Glad I did! Made a size F.
No adjustments. Next time I might bring in the bib by 1cm on either side so the straps sit closer to my neck rather then my shoulders.

I’ve already ordered some more hardware & denim to make another pair !!
