I've been talking about this all day online and in person, videos have been shutting off (Hello, Mercury Rx! 👋🏾), and worked all day, so you can imagine your girl is SPENT. But, if I'm going to talk and converse everywhere else, I can at least add my two cents here. I'm much more fluid when I'm not recorded 🤣 but I'm working on that. 🦋 .

It’s new. This feeling. I’ve had to do a lot of rationalizing and healing on my own, and as women, when that happens, we can sometimes run into a wall about how that makes us feel about ourselves and who we are. But this season brings more confidence and encouragement in my core. #solarplexus 💛
I was looking at my Self through a lens with no compassion and I’m thankful in advance* that I’m no longer a slave to that...to perfection. It’s amazing how something or someone can make you feel ashamed of your emotions. Our #emotions are so strong because they’re power-full. It’s not a weakness as society would have you believe (and I don’t). They can make you feel* weak, but they’re not a weakness. So, I practice forgiving my Self for my mistakes every day as I live and learn to brave them. I had to stop and appreciate my Self for all the travels I’ve made through love and situations because the woman I became and the one I’m becoming...is so fierce now. Fierce + feminine. 🌻 Real #hotgirlshit is when you show up. 🔥 You can pull yourself from the depths of not feeling good enough or wanted enough, to a woman who now wants herself. I’ve decided I’m not giving that power away to anyone, anymore...it’s not yours to take. 💌 #FromEmmy | #SolarPlexusSeries .

I'm a loonnngg way from home, but closer to myself. Life has been eventful. Even when you're intentionally slowing down, you catch everything you would've missed...I'm grateful for more wisdom, even more thankful for greater discernment, and a new level of discipline. I've begun the process of transforming into an entirely different beast than I was before and I love that for me. I've kept my resolve and my softness, and I think as a woman, in a world constantly trying to wrestle your attention away from your Self, that is a huge accomplishment. I am so, so thankful to God for keeping my heart and my wits about me. I always have something to look forward to and 9/2 is always a beautiful reminder of how much I am loved and valued. Thank you. ♥️ I appreciate all the hearts, the laughs, the heartfelt messages (I've been rereading and replaying all of them today), the money 🤑🙌🏾, and the genuine love. I hope you know how much I miss, appreciate, and adore y'all. You know how to make a ♍️ feel special!!

I don't have a lot of energy, so I'm going to make this quick...

You notice the difference between the first 2 pics? The first one was never supposed to see the light of day. 🙃 The second one is me realizing my non-baby bump was showing and trying to hide it. So today is an especially Happy Birthday to me...because today I closed a 5 year long chapter of my life. My proudest accomplishment today is that I was able to pee on my own (big deal). So, after watching Serena Williams from the hospital bathroom, with tears in both our eyes, say goodbye to the end of an era...her "loss" took on a different meaning for me. ❤️ If you've been around, you know I've been struggling with #fibroids for quite some time. What started as a holistic journey, ended with me on the surgeon's table for over 3 hours this morning. I feel pain. I feel bloat. I feel EXHAUSTED. And most of all, I feel joy. I lost something today, too...but truly gained in the end. 🏆 Sometimes what looks like a loss is truly the beginning of something new. A "rebirth" ❤️‍🔥

I feel like a champion tonight. Today is the beginning of a new era for me and I'm rooting for everyone starting a new journey, too. September kicking off with the moon in Scorpio makes so much sense! Thank you for your well wishes, birthday love, and sweet pictures. I have a lot to process, but...Now I rest. 💚 #FromEmmy

As of Sept 2, 2022...ya girl will be out of commission for the next 6 weeks. I'm ringing in my birthday in a maaaajjjjorrr way. I'll share that journey over on Twitch at FromEmmy this week. October 5, 2018. I had just came home from a test shoot that day and was still in the spirit of taking pictures. Modeling was my first extracurricular activity. 😂❤️ I was in high school when I had my first shoot. I'm pretty sure my "comp cards" still sit in my mom's closet for safekeeping. It wasn't a first love like writing, but it was definitely more fun! People did my makeup, asked me questions, made me laugh and look more pretty. 🤗 It was the constant transformation from one look to the next that always did it for me. I stayed up the night before these pictures were taken to practice doing my own* makeup. Came out FLAWLESS. However, on the day of, everything that could go wrong with my makeup DID and I didn't have enough time to fix it. The eyes weren't as elaborate as the night before, my dress felt larger than what I hoped for thanks to vegan eating, and I couldn't seem to get the flyaways to lay down on my hair properly. On top of all of that I was running behind schedule and the anxiety kicked in. The jitters were real! But when we finally arrived and that camera came on and the shutter sound began - all that shit in my head just disappeared. I was having fun again. 🧡 I have to remind myself of moments like this when I get too caught up in my head about anything I'm creating. I want to find things fun again. Enjoy them without overthinking them. That's why I do my shoots. To allow space for what my Virgo brain needs which is to just shut off and create, and beauty is as much of an art form as anything else. Morphing into whatever image I have in my mind makes the chameleon in me happy.

You notice you never really need a filter when the sun's out? 🌞 Lately I've been spending a lot of time in the sun. Whether I'm reading, writing, drawing or shooting 📸 it genuinely makes me feel good to shower myself with love when I step out in the sun.
