If you’re new here - hello! 👋 I’m Rachael, founder of Front Porch Properties & Front Porch Doors.

I’m a licensed builder running my design & construction business, Front Porch Properties, passionate about creating timeless homes with storybook charm.

I built this business from the ground up (I was a trained classical pianist - wild, I know! 🤷‍♀😅) & I’m proud of how far it’s come.

Getting my builder’s license wasn’t easy - it took over 5 years. I’d play Beethoven by day & study at night school for years 😅

Years later, I’m grateful for the journey & the incredible team I work with - our in-house staff, suppliers, skilled trades, & our wonderful customers & clients.

When I first started renovating & building, I struggled to find doors for our projects - underwhelmed by the lack of what was available or overwhelmed by the high costs for custom-made options.

So I set out to fill this gap in the market & @frontporchdoors was born! 🤩

We offer a curated collection of affordable, classic-style, off-the-shelf doors for homeowners, designers & builders Australia-wide

OUR VALUES | WHAT MAKES OUR DOORS DIFFERENT?

✔️ Classic & Timeless Design
Inspired by classic American homes, coastal, farmhouse, beach houses, cottages, Cape Cod- our doors bring warmth & character to any space. Yet our doors are versatile enough to suit any Australian home.

✔️ Quality Craftsmanship
Our doors are solid construction - no cheap fillers (built to last!)

✔️ Affordable & Accessible
We believe great design should be within reach. Our designer doors are affordable, well-made & available Australia-wide for homeowners, builders & designers.

✔️ Customer Service That Cares.
As home lovers, renovators & builders, we get it. We’re here to help & ensure our customers feel looked after.

✔️ Award-Winning Excellence
In 2023, we were honoured with the HIA Building Award for ‘Achievement in Manufacture & Supply’ - a reflection of our dedication to quality & innovation & our commitment to bringing you the very best.

Why our doors cost less and are built better. 🚪✨

Swipe through to see some of my earlier building projects, where paying a premium for custom-made doors made me realise there was a gap in the market, and how we keep our doors affordable today. 👉

We run lean, so you don’t pay for things that don’t matter.
✓ One warehouse, not a chain of expensive showrooms
✓ No middlemen or joiners adding their own markup
✓ No fancy packaging you end up throwing away anyway
✓ Just better value doors, with the savings passed straight to you

Throwback Thursday… to this Modern Farmhouse build 10 years ago.

At the time, I was a young female builder, new to the industry, with a vision to build homes that felt different from what was already being built. Ten years ago, Modern Farmhouse wasn’t a style you saw much of in Australia!

Never a dull moment on our job sites… We were photographed for the Courier-Mail and even had a crazy person arrested on site. 😂

I remember paying an fortune to have that front door custom made. Fast forward 10 years, and that same design is now part of our standard, off-the-shelf Front Porch Doors range as the Oaklands One Light.

What a wild ride the last decade has been. ❤️

Has anyone been following since this project 10 years ago? I’d love to know! by @frontporchproperties

Did you know our Breeze 2-in-1 door is available across THREE door designs? 🤍✨

The Breeze - our 2-in-1 door with a built-in screen - is available in:

🤍 Ivy Willow
🤍 Ivy Willow Arch
🤍 Oaklands

The beauty of a classic front door. The practicality of a built-in screen. From the outside, it looks like a timeless front door. From the inside, the glass panels open to let the breeze flow through — and keep the insects out.

Whether your home is coastal, traditional, farmhouse, cottage, classic, Hamptons or a modern new build - there’s a Breeze door for you.

You may have noticed we had closed orders last week to work through our backlog - but we’re excited to say orders are officially open again. Shop via the link in bio. 🤍 by @frontporchproperties

ANNOUNCEMENT ✨

The response to our new Ivy Willow Breeze 2-in-1 door has honestly blown us away.

We’ve had such a huge influx of orders that we temporarily closed orders while we worked through our backlog.

Many of you reached out saying you were disappointed to see they were no longer available on the website — which is why we’re very excited to say…

Orders are officially OPEN again. 🤍

And as a little side note… a number of other previously sold out doors have now also been restocked.

For those new here, the Ivy Willow Breeze gives you the beauty of a classic front door, with the practicality of a built-in screen. From the outside, it looks like a timeless front door. From the inside, the glass panels open to let the breeze flow through while keeping insects out.

It’s quickly become one of our fastest-selling designs for a reason.

If you’ve been waiting for orders to reopen, now’s your chance before we potentially hit capacity again.

If you’re renovating or building, internal doors help set the mood of your home. 🏡

The Graceville door was designed to bring a sense of calm into a space with vertical VJ panelling that adds texture and depth, while keeping the overall look soft and timeless. 🚪✨

Designed to suit both classic and contemporary homes. 🤍

A huge thank you to our amazing customer who chose 25 doors from our collection for her beautiful new home …we love seeing them come to life! 🙏🏻😍

Throwback Thursday to 2015, when I was still figuring it all out…
… and the door that started it all. 🚪

This was one of my very first builds… a knock-down/rebuild for a beautiful family of four. I was pretty new to the industry, having made a career change into construction at 30, and I loved this project so much. I learned so much, threw myself into every detail and was absolutely hooked as a builder.

But here’s the part I didn’t see coming…

I remember sketching up that front door design and having it custom made, because I couldn’t find anything else. We paid way too much for it. And that same frustration came up again and again with every build after that… until eventually it pushed me to start my own door business a few years ago.

Fast forward to today and that exact door design is now one of our most popular styles in our door collection - The Ulmarrah. (Named after the town where my husband Mark and I had our first date in 2023, after meeting by chance the day before in a cafe)

From a one-off custom piece to a stock standard bestseller in our range. Wild, right? 🚪✨

Swipe through to see some photos from my early building days…

P.S. Keep your eyes peeled for the photo where the crane truck driver dropped a full load of timber onto the carpenter’s ute. 😬 I’ll say no more. 😂 by @frontporchproperties

PAINT GREEN or STAIN? I need your help deciding… 👀

Photo 1: our very first installed prototype of the new 2-in-1 door (with built-in screen), left raw.

Photo 2: a green version (edited using ChatGPT).

Which do you prefer?

1. Raw timber (natural stain, same tone)
2. Painted green 🌿

👇 Let me know in the comments: STAIN or GREEN

P.S. All doors are supplied raw- ready for you to paint or stain to suit your home.

Slide 3 is the intro video again in case you missed it - this door is a bit of a game changer. by @frontporchproperties
