🍇 FRUITS OF THE NIGHT - MEET THE SELECTORS - PLAYING ROLLING 30 MINUTE SETS THROUGH THE NIGHT 🍇

James @vacuumcleanerart is a DJ and vinyl fiend whose touring as an artist took him through flea markets and record shops across the globe. He co-founded People Like Us, one of Bristol’s most defining and radical party spaces. Residencies include Dalston Superstore and White Lyan, alongside sets at Sink the Pink, Our Hobby Is Different, Love International, and his local favourite, Margate Arts Club.

James is also a mental health activist and artist, with major commissions for Tate Modern, Whitechapel Gallery and others under his belt.

Joining him is @fruitsofthenight creator and resident, @dcarsonofficial. Dan’s monthly live @margateradio show (Broken Window) and occasional Netil Radio show is a vinyl-only meander through jazz, latin, dub and beyond. He can be seen playing records around town at the Sun Deck, Tap Room, WhereElse and other spots. He’s known for playing everything from 20-minute funk jams to demo-press highlife 12”s and has a soft spot for George Michael.

Introducing the Fruits of the Night selectors for edition TWO. First one was f*cking great!

Rolling 30 minute sets, so we’ll all be on all night.

First up, organising this night is local selector @dcarsonofficial. Dan’s monthly live @margateradio show (Broken Window) and occasional Netil Radio show is a vinyl-only meander through jazz, latin, dub and beyond. He can be seen playing records around town at the Faith in Strangers, Sun Deck, Tap Room, WhereElse and other spots. He’s known for playing everything from 20-minute funk jams to demo-press highlife 12”s and has a soft spot for George Michael.

Next up, and back after illness kept him from the inaugural night, is founder of @margateartsclub - our saviour - Luke Vandenberg. Expected mixed bag: jazz, disco, soundtracks, some probably quite odd sounds.

And finally, Woddy. Paul is an enthusiast of music that ‘darts about a bit’. He’s been a regular at the Tap Room and The Sundeck playing his eclectic vinyl collection for a few years, keeping it local, keeping it cosmic…

See you Sat 6th. Tickets via the Arts Club website/Outsavvy.

Come down early. Free before 8pm.

EPISODE TWO! After the roaring success of the first party (“music was stunning”, “best night I’ve been to at the arts club for a while” and other lovely complements) @fruitsofthenight is back with another night. Expect eclectic vinyl-only sets rooted in jazz and world music but also to veer off in all directions, and a mega friendly crowd. Classy tunes for classy folk! Book in advance for cheap/free tickets at OutSavvy: link in bio/ the @margateartsclub website. Sat 6th June 7pm-2am. taken in Margate Arts Club by @fruitsofthenight
