Introducing Fruits of the Night’s wonderful selectors! Playing rolling 30 minute sets so will all be on all night.

First up is @vandorta_. Vandorta is a Margate based DJ and radio host. An avid crate digger with a particular ear for all things funky, Vandorta has brought her eclectic musical tastes to esteemed London venues such as the Jazz Café, Corsica Studios and Phonox; and has played festival sets at We Out Here, Lost Village and Kent’s Smugglers Festival. She has opened for the likes of Kneecap, Dennis Bovell, Jerry Dammers and Nardwuar, as well as holding down a regular radio show at Amsterdam’s Radio TNP, with guest appearances on NTS, Soho Radio and Vinyl Factory Live.

Joining the very talented lineup of selectors, founder of @margateartsclub, Luke Vandenberg.
Expected mixed bag; jazz, disco, sound tracks, some probably quite odd sounds.

Next up is Woddy. Paul is an enthusiast of music that ‘darts about a bit’. He’s been a regular at the Tap Room and The Sundeck playing his eclectic vinyl collection for a few years, keeping it local, keeping it cosmic…

And finally, organising this night is local selector @dcarsonofficial. Dan’s monthly live @margateradio show (Broken Window) and occasional Netil Radio show is a vinyl-only meander through jazz, latin, dub and beyond. He can be seen playing records around town at the Sun Deck, Tap Room, WhereElse and other spots. He’s known for playing everything from 20-minute funk jams to demo-press highlife 12”s and has a soft spot for George Michael.

See you Saturday. Tickets via the Arts Club Website.

End of January. Time to shake off the dark evenings with something warm.

Broken Window Presents the club night version of my @margateradio show.

Fruits of the Night is a proper vinyl party: full tracks played through a special @margateartsclub audiophile sound system. No laptops, no CDJs, just four local selectors (@vandorta_ , Luke@margateartsclub, Woody, and myself @dcarsonofficial) taking rolling 30-minute sets through multiple genres: Jazz/Fusion/Afro/Brazilia/Vintage Pop/Psychedelia/Dub/Reggae/Funk/Disco and beyond.

Loft-style atmosphere, communal and inclusive. Music to move to (sometimes slow, sometimes fast). Crisp buffet. Shoes optional. Low-key, high-vibe.

7pm–1am, Saturday 31st January.

Keeping it affordable: £3 adv / £5 on the door. Tickets and more info at margatearts.club.

Come early, settle in. (Remember also that @casapizzeriamargate also now hand delivers direct to MAC.)

Free family-friendly open decks session beforehand 5-7 xxx
